Only two? Man oh man, I'm much stickier than that. It takes me at least four hours a night just to catch up on the news. Then I have spend time at the Canteen. I'm lucky if I get to bed by 3:00 a.m. My name is Nan and I'm a Freeperholic.

Partially correct. The "Forum" and "Membership" stats are accurate and updated daily. I stopped collecting and updating only the "Front-side" and "Back-side" statistics. I'm currently exploring other options to collect those stats and to provide more useful information.

I rely on this site along with Drudge to get my news, and I use this when I can to help people who don't have access to a TV when breaking news is happening.

You know, I rely on this site to get the news here in Israel. Free Republic consistantly beats breaking TV news localy about what is happening right here in Israel. Strange but true! Hats off Jim, and thanks! People vote with their time, It is the most precious thing we have...

Yahoo is a left wing site. Their news headlines are quite liberal, as well as their forums. They're very left wing.

How did you decide the graphic is worth posting? With no accompanying explanation, it has about as much value as a media poll or an internet poll.

Simple. Nielsen/NetRatings is the most reliable web site ratings company out there. If they say we're at the top, we're at the top. Just because you don't personally understand the methodology behind it, doesn't make it a lie. (Note that the Times also published it as is, with no accompanying explanation.)

Any Freepers been approached by Nielsen to be web-browsing monitored? I could imagine our ample libertarian wing would be quite leery of this.

Dimwit, member since April 26, 2002: your reply is about as brainless as it gets. Apt screen name. Welcome to FR.

No. The graphic says: it's hours per day. 156,000 unique hits and on 8 hours 56 minutes per day. This means we turn the machine on. freerepublic is the default home page and we leave it there while we go about our lives. There's a cookie on your computer that personalizes it.

To me it's my News Page because if it's important enough to get the Freepers atttnetion it's on FR. Plus, it's quick loading and is easily scanned.

Question: Since I'm addicted to FR, can I sue someone later like the Feds sued the tobacco companies? ( I promise not to sue FR or my hero Mr. Robinson, but some of the leftist posters and RAT lurkers do qualify). They raise my blood pressure and that's not good for me either.
