I believe that this is exactly the scenario for which the 2nd Amendment was created. The Governor of Tennessee should thus change his name to H.R.H. George III.

Hopefully if they start to vote on the income tax and the protesters start breaking windows againthe National Guard Commander will give the proper orders.

This sounds like bullstuff to me. Is this Valentine guy legit, or a radio muckraker?
To: Jthro
The governor's office says the report on the National Guard is wrong. It has not been called up.
The aide I talked to was a Ms. Smart A--. I talked to her for a few minutes and expressed my dismay that her legislature wouldn't listen to the state's people. I had told her where I was calling from and she started dissing our state for it's taxes. I said, yes lady, I know what it's like to live under an oppresive system. So do your citizens and they don't want it. She was flippant and couldn't have cared less.
I once again reminded her that the citizens of her state had made it abundantly clear that they didn't want a state income tax, and asked her what they had to do to get it through the governor's fat head. She made some flippant remark and I said, you know what, I hope your citizens come down there and light a match to the place.
LOL, these folks couldn't give a damn what their constituants want. Ah representative government at it's best.
The phone number for the capital is 615-741-3569. Ask for the governor's office.

Does Gov. Taxquist want to perpetrate a State House Steps Massacre?
To: Jthro
We have income taxes here. They go up every year. Get ready.
Vote 3 times? It's like Al gore. Keep counting until they get the numbers they want?
To: Jthro
Valentine says we can stand down for now. The Legislature was trying to pass a temporary sales tax increase but failed to get the votes. The Governor's office called to complain that they hope Valentine and his followers "behave" this year.
Keep the powder dry and stay vigilant!

"Tennessee House Of Representatives suspending the House Rules in anticipation of a vote on the state income tax this evening"
Sounds like taxation without representation to me.
To: Jthro
I think I know how they're gonna vote.

Can you say Battle of Athens (1946) ?
