STILL not comfortable with new FR format

I like A LOT of things about the new format, I want to establish that fact right away. BUT......With the old format, all I had to do was open FR from my faves, and instantly there were the Latest Posts, plus a concise list of Breaking News, Front Page News, etc., right in plain sight, no searching.....

Now when I open FR, I can't tell where I am, have to scroll down to find breaking news, and it just feels disjointed and sprawling. I'd like to find a way to set up the format so I don't have to seek out the latest news.

I have no idea what you're talking about.

You can set the new format up exactly how the old one was.

But you have to subscribe to Breaking news, Front page, Extended, Editorial, etc. or they want appear.

Right! And you have to do it one at a time, I think.

Set this page in your favorites and if it is close to what you want you can even set it as your Home Page in IE ( not sure about netscape ) and use it as your basic starting point!

You will need to customize it somewhat -- what you see will be specific to what options you have selected!!.

The font issue can be addressed by Style Sheets, which Jim Robinson had a note on recently or by adjusted the internet options in your browser!!!

Well, I'm half way there. I just Unsubscribed to all of the topics. Bad news, though.
NOW, when I click on topics in the top right, ALL it shows is General, no Breaking News.
Arrgghh!

Something has lately been amiss with the notification of new "posts to you." When I post, it tells me I have new posts, even though it's just the post that I just put up.

This feature was working properly just a few days ago. I don't know what's changed since then.

Ugh. Now I've found breaking news, started the subscribing thing, and no matter what, breaking news won't stay up at the top.

My big issue with this is that, with all the activity in the middle east, I'd like to find out about the news as soon as I can, and if I have to go searching for breaking news, it's time consuming.

Oh, well. I'll just set it up as best I can and try to adapt. Thank to all for all the help.

I would like to have a window listing articles in all forums, chronologically inter-sorted. Before the splitting off of different forums, this was the normal behavior for the "New Articles" link. Now I don't know any way to get this behavior.
