Representative Awful
Cynthia McKinney?s insanity and hypocrisy.

don't mean to be such a pain in the ass to Cynthia McKinney (D., Ga.), but it appears this is the fastest route to her brain. According to the Washington Post , in an interview with a Berkeley radio station Ms. McKinney suggested that the Bush administration knew about the September 11 attacks but did nothing to stop them. Oh, no, wait ? she doesn't suggest that, she says it:

We know there were numerous warnings of the events to come on September 11th. . . . What did this administration know and when did it know it, about the events of September 11th? Who else knew, and why did they not warn the innocent people of New York who were needlessly murdered? . . . What do they have to hide?

Catch that? "Why did they not warn the innocent people?who were needlessly murdered?" In other words, the Bush administration knew these people were going to be murdered and they did nothing about it. She also adds that "persons close to this administration are poised to make huge profits off America's new war." These are not complicated dots to connect. Ms. McKinney believes, or says she believes ? not necessarily the same thing, of course ? that the Bush administration is guilty of aiding and abetting the mass murder of American citizens for profit.

When confronted, McKinney backpedaled a few millimeters. In a statement she explained: "I am not aware of any evidence showing that President Bush or members of his administration have personally profited from the attacks of 9-11. A complete investigation might reveal that to be the case."

I see. Well, just let me just say that I am not aware of any evidence that Ms. McKinney has murdered several children or that she personally profited from sleeping with the entire defensive squad of the Atlanta Falcons. However, a complete investigation might reveal that to be the case.

Meanwhile, while we await the findings of that long-overdue investigation, I can add that there is ample evidence that Ms. McKinney is dumber than rock salt and more repugnant than Yasser Arafat's three-week-old underwear.

Note how that statement does not actually retract the truly hateful accusation. Ms. McKinney lets stand the suggestion that Americans were "needlessly murdered" because the Bush administration knew about the September 11 attack and willingly did nothing about it for purely selfish reasons. If this were true, Bush would certainly be impeached and might even be executed. Of course, it's not true. But truth isn't one of those things that come through too clear by way of the radio transmitters in McKinney's fillings.

She seems to think that for her to raise her own paranoid, America-hating, crypto-Marxist conspiratorial delusions is all we need to justify investigating them. "What is undeniable," she says, "is that corporations close to the administration have directly benefited from the increased defense spending arising from the aftermath of September 11th." "America's credibility, both with the world and with her own people, rests upon securing credible answers to these questions."

Actually, Ms. McKinney, your own credibility rests upon your securing serious and prolonged psychotherapy.

I thought this sort of thing went the way of Thomas Nast cartoons. But I guess Ms. McKinney actually sees a Bush White House consisting of fat cats in tuxedos exchanging bags of money with the four horsemen of the apocalypse. Alas, it is impossible to convince lefties that being rich often serves as the best insulation against greed. The idea that Don Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, and George Bush would start a war in order to get an additional few million when they have plenty of millions already, only makes sense to lefties who believe being rich is a sin (unless, of course, you're a rich liberal).

McKinney's hypocrisy is so concentrated it could eat through metal. The only politician I know of who actively tried to profit from Sept. 11, was Cynthia McKinney herself. She's the one who went whoring after Saudi Arabia's blood money after the attacks. (In fact, this column was supposed to be just a one-paragraph intro to a reprint of my column about that shameful episode.)

Sen. Zell Miller caught another aspect of Ms. McKinney's hypocrisy: In a press release he said, "At first glance, it would be easy to pass this off as just another loony statement. But at second glance, it is more than that. It is very dangerous and irresponsible."

Senator Miller also noted: "I hope President Bush will remember that this is the same Congresswoman who ? during each of his State of the Union addresses ? arrives early to get a coveted aisle seat, then leans way over as Bush walks down the aisle, hoping he will give her a kiss for all to see on national TV."

Meanwhile another fellow Georgian came to her defense. "She's not as random as people think," McKinney's friend Jack Kingston (R., Ga.) says ? in her defense. "People always want to hear a political conspiracy theory." So, in other words, McKinney knows that this is just a conspiracy theory. And this is supposed to let her off the hook? For a representative to tell the American public, in order to help her own career, that the government murdered thousands of its own citizens for material gain is disgusting (it also will undoubtedly be picked up by our enemies in the Arab world, mark my words). Of course, it may not be as bad as the accusation that Bush killed thousands of Americans, but we at least know that accusation isn't true. Meanwhile, this accusation is the nicest thing her own friends can say about her.

What a truly awful woman.

And I thought Sheila Jackson Lee was retarded. McKinney is one dumb bitch! A real credit to her race.

Let's face it folks. This is what you get from the practice of gerrymandering all the democrat (in this case, black) voters into a few districts, thereby creating safe seats for republicans all across Georgia. Nevertheless, McKinney is horrible reflection on the intelligence and decency of her constituents.

Yeah, that Republican-controlled Georgia legislature sure did a great job of packing the Democrats into those districts in the 1990's. < /sarcasm>

You have to be joking, right?

Everybody cooperated in creating safe districts by putting all the democrat voters in certain districts, and all the republican voters in others.

Okay, this has to be one of the best opening lines ever.

Perhaps there was some cooperation, but I doubt it was the intention of the partisan Democrat Georgia legislature to wind up with 8 Republicans and 3 Democrats (all black).

Doubt their partisanship? Or truly believe in cooperation? Well, just look at the partisan, racist gerrymander they've come up with THIS time around!

IIRC, back in 1991 Newt Gingrich (who at the time was the ONLY Republican in the GA delegation) was shrewd enough to throw the GOP weight (such as it was) behind the interpretation of the so-called "Voting Rights Act" that appeared to mandate a certain number of minority districts.

Newt knew what the longer-range outcome would be - and he sure was right - while the partisan racists figured the delegation would be 10-1 forever. Like the rest of the loony left, they were 100% blindsided by 1994.

Fast forward to 2002, and the libs have learned their lesson in Georgia, coming up with the most hideous plan yet seen in this round of redistricting (it's this round's "Texas"), while here in Pennsylvania a couple of liberal scumbag judges want to scrap the Republican plan because population counts in the new districts vary by as much as 19 entire persons (or about .001 of a percent). Or so they claim - the real reason, of course, is that we don't dare implement a plan that hurts the commies.

Nothing to add, really. I just really, really liked this line.

.......(a) fellow Georgian came to her defense. "She's not as random
as people think," McKinney's friend Jack Kingston (R., Ga.) says.....

Mr Kingston apparently got his tongue caught in a hush puppie. He's reissued his statement to
correct his mischaracterization. "Miss McKinney is not as rancid as people think, " he asserted.

What makes seemingly "normal democrats" get up in the morning and vote for a piece of crap like this? Do they run out of run-of-the-mill liberals? Can't they import from Mass?

The Georgia GOP should tie her to Max Cleland immediately. Today, if not sooner.

"This is what you get from the practice of gerrymandering all the democrat (in this case, black) voters into a few districts, thereby creating safe seats for republicans all across Georgia"

I wish it were so simple. This is what you get for giving everyone a vote. Your theory doesn't explain the elections of Barney Frank, Ted Kennedy, Sheila Jackson-Lee, Barb Boxer, Diane Feinstein, Mister Rangel, Jesse Jackson Jr, Hillary Clinton, numerous governors, and a cast of thousands of local shake and bakes. The fact is that some people by their sheer ignorance do not merit the privelege of a vote in an election. They are unable to weigh the consequences of their vote. Thomas Jefferson was correct in his assessment of the general public's ability to understand the meaning of a constitutional republic. The 17th Amendment was another bad move from a strategic point of view. As we move from republic to empire I am profoundly disturbed by the similarities to the "Bread and Circus" syndrome that so badly afflicted the Romans.

What are the chances that this woman will be thrown out on her a** in the next election b/c of this disgraceful episode?

the sad truth is, considering her district and the poor record of black voters in tossing out Democratic incumbents for ANY REASON, that there's very little chance of this.

Now here's a much more frightening thought. Perhaps she saying this b/c it's what her constituency believes? or what they want to hear? I sincerely hope this isnt' true.

When thinking about this, we might do well to remember the polling data from a few years ago that revealed that a sizable proportion of the black community (33%?) believed that AIDS had been created by white doctors in an effort to destroy the black race.

This stupid representative awful is just a tool by the democrats to try to smear the President, because they have no issue that has gain any traction, and November is coming down fast. mckinney is a perfect stoodge, she is black, a woman, and an idiot. Everybody knows that blacks, and more over a woman, can not be made accountable for any wrong doing. The demons can not lose. Very smart move by daschle, and the bitch, eh.

There was one man shown on Fox News last night, a black from her district, who deplored her conduct. Over against that is the likelihood that most don't even know what their rep does, and only care that she is black.

I would agree that the expansion of suffrage has done little to improve the quality of elections, especially allowing people to vote who have little or no property and who look to the government for benefits, or work for the government. However, the prevalence of loonies is certainly in part explicable by the practice of gerrymandering, especially types like Maxine Waters, Major Lewis, and Cynthia McKinney.
