they adopted a stray dog and named it "George W. Bush". "He's a cowboy," one soldier said as the brown pit-bull terrier prowled an Israeli hilltop encampment overlooking the city of Nablus. "He barks a lot," said a second. "But he's useless," another chimed in. Haha... wow... truth hurts sometimes. Remember CFR?

Ever notice that most articles from Reuters are written by a--holes and take every opportunity to bash conservatives?

"If the U.S. had this problem of terrorism, they wouldn't ask for permission. They would finish the job like they did in Afghanistan," Yep. We need to leave Isreal alone and let them finish their job.

I guess Bush needs to be the whipping boy all over the world. I guess it does'nt occur to the man that we are buying them some time.

Bush's call for Israeli withdrawal is so very wrong. I voted for him, and he's embarrassing my vote by acting like a wuss.

This truly is left wing bashing Bush but this thing is going to get worse before it gets better. If we (U.S.) keep demanding that Israel withdraw their troops and innocent civilians as well as troops keep getting killed, our friendship with Israel could sour very quickly. God help us!
To: ambrose
Since Bush and Sharon have jointly and successfuly planned and implemented both the "Israeli Incursion" and "Bush demands Israeli Withdrawal" political charade, I'd say that Bush is pretty damn useful.

I do not believe a word of this British Arab-loving Reuters report. Ari Dan, Dori Gold, Newsweek and Israeli websites have well documented what a farce this faux criticism by Bush of Israel is. Cheney, Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz are squarely oppsed to restraining Sharon. Powell and Rice got a reluctant Bush to agree to the SoS visit. An admin. "aide" (read Mary Matalin) told Newsweek that the "hardliners" see nothing wrong with Powell wasting his time while they prep for the war on Iraq. My friends in D.C. have told me aides have told them that Israel would be given "carte blanche" once our boys were on the ground in Iraq.

How are we buying them time? We are limiting thier time with Powells visit and these constant calls for withdrawl. Much like the EU would be limiting our time to complete our mission in Afghanistan if they kept tell us to get out.

Bush's moral relativism in this thing has the tendancy to undermine any argument we might make concerning terrorism.

Bush's call for Israeli withdrawal is so very wrong. I voted for him, and he's embarrassing my vote by acting like a wuss. Both Israel's military/police action and Bush's "demands" were pre-planned by the U.S. and Israeli administrations, working in tandem. Bush's declarations have bought Israel time and credibility... You need not be embarrassed for the President. Israel and the U.S. are jointly screwing with the media and world opinion (and some conservatives here are falling for it... Remember the disinformation campaign during the beginning of Operation Enduring Freedom? Same thing is going on now.) Sit back and watch.

I was just thinking that it must be a weird feeling for Bush, dealing with someone more stubborn and blunt than he is. Clearly, both men are acting in what each deems his own country's best intrests and can't back down. In the end, though, Bush can afford to lose face in the Arab world - its not like he's going to get a coalition to attack Iraq again anymore anyway. Sharon can't lose face without risking a fall from power.

Re#9 Yep. I think Powell has 7 more stops before he gets there. I also noticed he is walking very slowly of recent....

IMO we have kept the other arab countrys at bay and prevented them from aiding Palestinians with our constant call for talks while Israel has gone in and holed up Arafat and rooted out terrorists.

""That means we may have to come back again." "
Duh, that's the freeking point !
Pull out now giving one more chance for Yasser to save face and then when he doesn't the "world" can't say sh*t about it.

Only works if they stay past Powell's visit and/or seem to destroy a lot of terrorists(ie Church of Nativity holdouts). Otherwise it has to be caluculated that the public will understand AND forget later on...both of us being democracies/republics where public opinion matters.
