Still a Clinton hater. And loving it.
Oak Lawn (IL) Reporter ^ | 4/11/02 | Michael M. Bates

I don’t care how long it’s been since Clinton dragged his sorry carcass – and anything else he could swipe – out of the White House. I don’t want to forget the Clinton years. I don’t want to move on. I don’t want to put it all behind me.

I hate Clinton as ardently now as when he energetically defiled the Nation on a daily basis. I hate his wife, and his daughter, too. And I won’t be satisfied until everyone hates them as much as I do.

That, you may argue, isn’t feasible, despite the multitude of excellent reasons to hate them. My answer is that in a country that could elect a deceitful sleaze like Clinton, anything is possible.

For years I gave Chelsea a pass. After all, it wasn’t her fault that she was born into a family of crooks. She’s grown up now, though, and is her own person. So what did she do immediately after the terrorist attacks of September 11th? She’s written that she was "expounding on the detriments of Bush’s tax cut as we approached Grand Central Terminal . . ." Quite clearly, she’s a developing basket case, one deserving the same scorn and derision as the unfit parents who inculcated her with socialist nonsense.

What’s especially preposterous are Clinton’s incessant attempts to rewrite history. A few months ago he rounded up some of his bootlicking apologists and urged them to publicize all his supposed accomplishments as president. More recently, he permitted the Monica Lewinsky of newsmagazines, Newsweek, to interview him. Clinton claimed that giving Marc Rich, former regular on the FBI’s Top Ten Most Wanted List, was a mistake because – hold your breath here – "It wasn’t worth the damage to my reputation."

His reputation? His reputation? What a knee lapper. Clinton’s got a reputation, all right. But it’s certainly not one that could be damaged. Here’s a guy who was:

Fined $90,000 for lying under oath and obstructing justice. Forced to pay an $850,000 settlement in the Paula Jones lawsuit. Disbarred in Arkansas. Prohibited from practicing law before the U.S. Supreme Court.

He ran the White House like a Motel 6 for Democrat fat cats. He took campaign contributions from Chinese communists. He entertained felons, including drug peddlers and arms smugglers, in the Executive Mansion.

Remember how the Clintons managed to get their hands on 900 FBI files they weren’t supposed to have? Or the puzzling reappearance of subpoenaed billing records?

Then there were the last minute pardons. Susan McDougal, Roger Clinton, and Clinton’s former secretary of Housing and Urban Development were pardoned. So were Weather Underground radicals, murderers, drug dealers, and a bunch of folks who stole tax dollars. Hillary’s brothers, seeing how well Roger Clinton was doing by peddling influence, jumped on the pardon bandwagon themselves.

And what of Clinton and terrorism? In 1993 bin Laden’s thugs exploded a bomb in the World Trade Center, killing six and injuring hundreds of others. In 1995 they bombed a military headquarters in Riyatdh, Saudi Arabia and killed five Americans. In 1996 they bombed military barracks in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia and killed 19 Americans. In 1998 they bombed U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania and killed 224 people, including 12 Americans, and injured more than 5,000 others. In 2000 they bombed the U.S.S. Cole and killed 17 Americans. What did Clinton do about all this? Not much. He was too busy lying, obstructing, denying, obfuscating, stonewalling, and, of course, traveling.

Clinton whines about how much money has been spent on investigating him. But how much would have been spent if he had only told the truth?

So much to hate, so little time. Yet there’s reason to think that finally, finally, more Americans are recognizing the true Clinton legacy.

A recent Gallup poll rated the last eight presidents in terms of job approval. In the poll, the first one taken since he left office, Clinton ranked sixth, ahead of only Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon.

Not bad for a start. In the meantime, let the hating continue.

then Ray should be brought up on obstruction of justice charges. that way, the evidence will see the light of day, and Ray willget whathe deserves for selling the American people down the river.

Who is going to bring Ray up on charges Charlie? Bush? He's too busy sucking up to the Democrats.

"hey at least nixon wasn't a traitor!"

So true, and that means infinitely more than apparently most realize (Freepers notwithstanding).

Still a Clinton hater.

Still not as much as me; nobody can possibly hate the Clintons as much as I do.

Ray was interviewed by Steve Malzberg a couple of weeks ago. When asked about the evidence in the Ford building, including info on Juanita Broaddrick, Ray said he was proud of the investigation, the highest executive wasn't above the law, New Jersey voters should focus on the economy (Ray is running for Senator), we should move on. Malzberg, after the commercial break, noted that the info would be unsealed in 2048, which is just around the corner.

Note to Mr. Ray - don't expect to receive my vote.

that may be...But it doesn't change the fact that Ronald Reagan's administration was proven to be much more corrupt than Slick's, from the perspective of the American system of laws and justice. I know that it's not be easy to live with, but it is the way it is,based onthe laws of our country.

That's like saying that a man ticketed five times for jaywalking is more corrupt than O.J. Simpson.

A little newsflash for you Charlie, we no longer have a system of law and justice in this country. It is not really that much different from a lot of third world countries. Our country is more technologically advanced and has a really good military, but in practice, the United States is not really that different. When you have a country that has one set of rules for one group of people, and another set of rules for everyone else, that's a third world country. We refused to hear a case because the criminal in question was popular. Even if the Senate heard the case, they still would have refused to convict, because the criminal in question was popular.

The justice system has been broken, and the American people broke it. The majority of the population in this country said in loud and clear terms, that they DID NOT CARE what crimes were committed by the president. The economy was too good to be jeopordized. Seventy some percent of our own country men sold out the principle of law and justice rather quickly. I'm not proud of this, and I think that everyone else on this forum thinks the same way.

I don't know what took possession of the American mind and soul. Sloth, laziness, apathy, lust, dishonesty or maybe a combination of all of the above. I guess that it is something more of morbid curiousity that drives me to wondering how people could betray principle in a country founded purely on principle. Do you remember how Linda Tripp was crusified in the press for bringing forward evidence? You cannot have a system of Law and Justice in a country that refuses to support it. If anybody ever wonders as to how Hitler gained power in Germany in the 1930's, they need only to look at America in the 1990's.

Not me. She became fair game when she openly worked on the Hildebeest's Senate campaign. That was her coming-out, as far as I'm concerned.

I believe more money was spent on his trips to Africa and China, than on any investigation. He brought every political friend he could think of....paid for, by the taxpayer.

and i prefer to live in a country where a court of Law carries more weight than the court of public opinion. But then again, I'm just a conservative.

Bet you would make a great golfing partner for OJ

we may have heard about felonies under Klintoon, but the fact remains that in the United States, without proof, crimes don't exist. And I wouldn't have itany other way. would you?

Sorry, your logic is flawed. We have evidence that a crime took place. The proof is needed to convict someone of that crime. A dead body is evidence that a crime took place, even if nobody is ever convicted.

You seem to be working on a new klintonian mantra, to go along with "you will find no evidence". I find it interesting that every accusation of wrongdoing against the klinton krime kartel was answered with "you will find no evidence", rather than "I didn't do it".

Every time I see pictures of the WTC burning, planes flying through buildings,

Here:

"Has that clinton "legacy" made you feel safer yet?"

Lest Americans ever forget why the clintons, and all their enablers need to be hectored, hounded, and harried into silence, until "clintonese is only spoken in Hell," look here:

"any relation"

No. It wasn't my first choice, but what I did want was already taken. I came up with it in a hurry as I wanted to dive into the Freeper forum. Although I like the name because of its obvious Southerness, I have often wished I had taken a bit more time to choose because, frankly, I don't feel worthy. I constantly find myself being careful not to do anything to tarnish the name, and sometimes it becomes quite burdensome. I guess you could say that I have inadvertently painted myself into a corner of having to (at least try) to be a better person. Mars Lee still wields great influence.

I'd rather NOT forget him, for as the saying goes - "Those who refuse to learn from history are doomed to repeat it" - and believe me, ONE Clinton was more than enough for this country in the White House and Oral...errr...Oval Office.

I agree. I mourned the apparent death of my country for eight long years. 911 has convinced me that the heart of America is still sound, but it has some rotten parts- like the media, to name just one glaring example. They are as corrupt as either clinton.

I strongly suspect that we will be dealing with the fallout and backfires of "that legacy thing" the 'toons and their worshippers burdened us with for years & years to come.
