Open America's borders now!!!!
Me | Now | Me

Posted on 04/06/2002 10:29:59 PM PST by paul544

I think America needs to open its borders to Mexico so that there is not even a border patrol. America is the land of opportunity and freedom. That should be the case for EVERYONE. Not just those that are citizens. There should be nothing seperating people from the opportunity that America offers. It is wrong not to share the wealth America has.

No I didn't read it. But I am a little concerned that some have such little faith in America. Is our country so weak that we have to keep everyone out, instead of relying on the forces that motivated our ancestors? If that is the case, then America was never that strong to begin with.

Don't forget. Clinton was the only thing that stopped a partial birth ban. I am curious as well as to why the House has not moved a similar bill. I think our borders need to be respected as well, just not shut off. There are actually some people here who want to actually build a huge wall along the Rio Grande. Like we are living in a police state.

"It is wrong not to share the wealth America has."

I will if you will. You first.

Oh, forgot to ask...how many immigrants are currently staying with you? What? None? That's hardly doing your part. If it's because of your region, I'm sure we could spare a few hundred thousand from Southern California that would appreciate your hospitality. "Viva Amexico!" says pauly.

"It is wrong not to share the wealth America has."

Good old fashioned Marxism. Take it all and spread it around.

All you people coming late to the thread should read up. I have adresses this "share the wealth" bit much earlier. It was intended as "share the opportunity for wealth". Not as any kind of free for all.

My Post # 85

paul554:

"That is soooo easy to say living here. Could you change this country? No. Easier said than done. It is so easy to have others do what you yourself are not able or willing to do. For example. All you people on FR do is bitch and moan about how terrible America is becoming. Yet that is all you do. Why don't you do something about this country? Right. Beacause it is easier to make excuses and demand others do it for you."

My reply:

Why is it people assume that being born here is an automatic guarantee to life on easy street?

As I have responded to " priviledged ,white bread upringing" remarks in the past, just because CNN says ALL Americans have it easy, don't generalize us as to think that some of us came from dirt poor families, with outhouses and woodstoves, with shoot straight or eat beans again dinner, with conditions that aren't much better than what people have in Mexico.

My own upbringing wasn't the "Leave it to Beaver" show, but after 15 years, nails in my knee, my left eye busted like a grape, a staple shot clean through my finger, probably 10,000 splinters dug out of my hands, I now have worked my way into a sweet job.

I left an abusive situation at 15, and have been on my own since. I have lived on the streets and I've gone hungry.

So don't tell me about easy, friend.

"It is so easy to have others do what you yourself are not able or willing to do."

You mean like get a job, get car insurance, pay taxes, obey the law, not collect welfare, learn English, is that what you mean?

"For example. All you people on FR do is bitch and moan about how terrible America is becoming. Yet that is all you do. Why don't you do something about this country? Right. Beacause it is easier to make excuses and demand others do it for you.

Let me inform you of something, there are many veterans, including ME, here in this forum, who didn't make excuses and served their country, and didn't ask others to do JACK SQUAT for them, as many feel compelled to do now by living off the sweat of others.

The only pantywaisted person doing anything resembling whining, is you.

Now...good evening Paul,

I don't know what I said in my post that enraged you so much, that you felt the need to post an obscene, one line reply.

I actually took the time to paste your comments, and my replies in a way as to actually try to engage in honest debate. I said nothing racist, obscene, nor did I attack YOU, in a personal way.

Although the pantywaist whining comment I made could be construed as an insult, I felt it fair, considering your repeated hurling of one line insults at every post you can't refute with intelligent responses.

I later posted, in anger to the above obscene remark, something to the effect of how errrrr...feminine I felt it of you to disagree with people by insulting them, which I felt you probably wouldn't do if it were an actual, face to face, conversation.

Then, you replied with :"Oh, mister tough guy", etc...

I'll go ahead, and apologize if I offended you. Although, if you are offended so easily, maybe you should not expect other people to afford you the same respect.

I'll give ya credit, you have hung around to defend your post.

But would you please explain, specifically, the exact thing that I said which caused you to cuss me?

One fix I saw advanced here on FR was "No representation without taxation!"

What we have now is that there in an unproductive class that can levy taxes on the productive classes to support them. I'm no sure that the waves of immigrants we would welcome wouldn't succomb to the siren call of liberal entitlement.

Maybe, after some uheavals to teach us the same lessons we already should know, liberalism would wane.

It was intended as "share the opportunity for wealth".

Oh, I misunderstood. I thought you were in favor of "sharing the wealth" with all those thousands and thousands of immigrants who can't find "opportunity" because the supply of labor has outstripped the demand.

And as for doing your part with your taxes, kinda cheap for a "successful" person, doncha think? You could probably help an entire family with their rent - why don't you?

And just why do you get to say what my taxes go to? And has anyone noticed that pauly is admitting with this tax arguement that immigrants are direct beneficiaries of our tax system? Funny, I've been told they all worked and were a plus for our economic system...they're not?

And you, of course, don't benefit at all from taxes, right? You fight your own fires, fix your own roads, run your own courthouse, etc... But once again, only Mexicans benefit from taxes.

Nope, but his post was aimed at some kind of correlation between Mexicans and terrorism.
