Maybe Israel is trying to "steam us up", but I remember it being widely reported right after we started bombing in Afghanistan that it was suspected that some Al Qaida members had fled to find shelter in the West Bank.
They knew we were trying to find a peaceful solution there, while calling their other favorite hiding places, ie Iraq, Iran, part of the axis of evil.
GWB also hasn't made any secret of the fact that Somolia, Lebanon, and Syria are prime targets for US Military action should those governments decide to harbor the terrorists.

"I repeat. And then Israel went to war and the US supported it. What do you think of that? :)" I think the U.S. is paying "lip service" to the UN and the Arab League to get what we want and calm the waters/rhetoric as much as possible. Actions speak louder than words! ;)

"why would the US not only vote for the UN measure but sponser the thing?" Hopefully it is step 1 of 2: Next, a resolution demanding Arafat immediately go on Al-Jazeera and condemn Hamas, Hizbollah, Al-Aqsa MB and IJ, and that all suicide bombers are disgraceful enemies of the Palestinians. That will flush out the phoneys.

I think your opinion is probably widely shared around here.

"WHAT THE HELL IS ISREALI PUTTING ALL OF THESE SETTLEMENTS RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF PALESTINE TERRITORY"? ISRAEL CONQUERED THE AREA IN QUESTION IN A WAR WHICH THEY DID NOT START NOR WANT, JUST LIKE THE 3 PREVIOUS WARS/INVASIONS AND THE ONE THAT OCCURED 7 YEARS LATER.
People can call it Palestinian territory all they want, Israel conquered in war fair and square. To say otherwise, would imply the US should go back to being a British colony, and the land in North America go back to control of the Native Americans.
If somebody invades you, if they believe your nation should not exist, and you kick their a$$e$, I think you have every right to as much territory as you want.

...RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF PALESTINE TERRITORY... They aren't. The middle of Palestinian territory is somewhere in western Jordan. Read your history.
In accordance with the principles of the Balfour Declaration and Article 22 of the League Convenant, the League of Nations drew up the Mandate for Palestine, tailor made by the British. The document underwent several transformations. Arab pressure and riots in Palestine had brought about the Churchill White Paper of 1922, which again reiterated the right of the Jews to a Homeland in Palestine, but detached all of the area east of the Jordan river from Palestine and gave it to the Hashemi family as an independent Arab state.

I suspect Washington and Israel planned this thing together. Why do you think Bush waited a week before 'doing' something to restrain Israel. Israel has accomplished what they need to do on this mission so Bush 'calls them off' to look like he's doing something to aid the so called peace process. Meanwhile Israel gets the 'smoking gun' that they need and I suspect they killed quite a few terrorists.

What.. you sayin they ort to have set there and let them nightshirted sons of Jezebel blow 'em all to kingdom come? Was Isreal just supose to stand by and let these dirty camel milkers kill all their women and childrun?

Well said and Bush has no real concern for this pompous group of third worlders. When the rubber must meet the road, know that a big game within the game is being played out. We are at war and Bush knows the players in Palestine are the same players allied with most Islamic Fundamentalism.
Some people om this board are getting way to jacked.

Thank you for your posts in this thread, they've helped calm me a bit.
I must add to this one that boy am I sick of Arafat's chances. Seems like he gets a lot of "stop or I'll say stop again...no we really mean it this time." I hope Brit's panel is right, because there WILL be another suicide bombing.

When the suicide/homicide bombings resume and Israeli women and children are cut to shreds, will Colon Bowell be willing to collect the scraps of human flesh? Is he willing to clean up the mess he's helping to perpetuate?

In fact I believe they were looking to move some operations into Palestinan territory.
We don't need an alien invasion as long as we have the Mideast.

Get used to it. When Buchanan was running all these fake 'Bush' supporters blasted Pat. As I predicted at that time, wait till Bush puts American interests before England and Israel, his support will be damaged. The 'free Pollard' crowd is in high gear.
