DAVID SCHIPPERS/DFU INTERVIEW ANNOTATED

Schippers to Doug From Upland: "Clinton is Delusional"

FREEPER EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: David Schippers Says "Clinton Is Delusional"DFU interview with David Schippers | 4-02-02 | Doug from Upland

Chis morning I had the great pleasure to have another conversation with David Schippers, one of the few former Democrats who has been able to see the truth about what happened to his former party and the damage Bill Clinton has done to this nation.

Don't lose

Your head

To gain a minute

You need your head

Your brains are in it.

--an old roadside ad, Pushme-Pullyou

It began yesterday with a phone call to Schippers' office to see if he would comment on the Jonathan Alter kneepad interview with Clinton.

Schippers returned my call this morning and told me that he did not see the interview in NEWSWEEK because he would not buy that &^%$#*&^%$. I complied with his request to fax it to him.

Well, the impeachment prosecutor needed his medication because his blood pressure almost went through the roof after reading the interview.

"What!" yelled Schippers. "The worst thing that happened to him was that his dog died?"

Pardongate Meets Buddygate

 by Mia T, April 1, 2002

C

n apparently immiscible mix of abused pets and abusive pardons joined forces posthumously this week as the latest players in the ongoing revisionist Harlem-hatched absurdity known as the CLINTON-WAS-AN-UTTER-FAILURE Containment Team Scheme.

This bizarre canine/quid-pro-quo pairing debuted yesterday in a revisionist Newsweek report authored by clinton lapdog, Jonathan Alter; the Newsweek piece was set up to be yet another cozy clintonoid interview of the Colmes kind.

Gross clinton "infrastructure" miscalculation, as it turned out. The report has proven to be counterproductive on its face. The clinton "infrastructure" error was to assume sufficient clinton intelligence to navigate these heady times, as well as lapdog immutability in the face of universal post-pardongate, post-9/11 rodham-clinton disdain.

Alter reports that the impeached ex-president now regrets having pardoned Marc Rich, not because it was criminal, not because it undermined our democracy, not because it aided and abetted the terrorists, but because it tarnished his legacy...which isn't fair, in any case, because Ken Starr made him do it, continues clinton, according to the report. Had he, himself, not been a victim of "prosecutorial abuse," clinton says he would not have been susceptible to Rich's exhortations.

In extreme CLINTON-WAS-AN-UTTER-FAILURE Containment Team Scheme mode, the disgraced ex-president, nonetheless, fails to explain why he was susceptible to Rich's cash. His lame argument, that he believed cash funneled by the wife, Denise Rich, to his presidential library, (the postmodern rodham-clinton reputation-history-&-money-laundering machine currently under construction), could not have come from the husband because the couple was estranged, is contradicted by the very fact that the wife was lobbying clinton for the husband's pardon...

A blockbuster revelation

The blockbuster revelation of the Alter piece, however, is less about pardons than about pets; clinton has disclosed that he is getting another chocolate Labrador puppy, a descendent of Buddy. Buddy was the second clinton dog hit by a car and killed because of clinton neglect. The clintons' first dog, Zeke, was killed in 1990 while running loose in Arkansas, (mimicking his master, some have argued).

Buddy's name is not lost on this writer. Clinton obviously buys into the Trumanism: "If you want a friend in Washington, get a dog," particularly sage advice today, post-pardongate, post-9/11, for the proximate cause of both.

Rumor has it that clinton intends to maintain the " friend" theme and name his new puppy "Chum." Some have suggested that given the poor pet's likely endpoint, "Chump" -- or maybe even "Thump" -- would be more appropriate.

"Not that our country was attacked? Not that the buildings were knocked down? Not that terrorists are running loose in our country? Not that there were dead bodies laying all over the streets of New York City?"

Schippers was really incensed over Clinton continuing to blame his problems on the supposed conspiracy of the right wing. "This can't be for real. This man is delusional," he said. "This SOB will never be remorseful and still refuses to admit what he did."

Despite Clinton's claim that the Justice Department did not object to a pardon for Marc Rich, Schippers says that such nonsense contradicts the facts. Many decent people within the Justice Department really wanted to nail Rich, not pardon him. "That Justice was no longer interested in Rich," said Schippers, "was pure B.S." Rudy Giuliani was absolutely screaming about Rich.

Clinton's psychological problem was evident when he talked about September 11 in terms of the "politics of personal destruction." According to Schippers, "Clinton believes that the whole world revolves around the feelings of William Jefferson Clinton."

We talked about politics in general and the Democratic Party in particular. He was sad to admit that the party he supported during most of his lifetime cares about one thing only --- retaining power. Their issues involve scaring people. That's all they can do. Scare people. Schippers talked about a 1998 recording of Hillary Clinton in which she tried to get out the vote by telling her minions that she had inside information about the Republicans plan to "close down all of welfare."

Clinton's failure to grasp the opportunity to unravel increasingly organized extremists, coupled with Berger's assessments of their potential to directly threaten the U.S., represents one of the most serious foreign policy failures in American history

Clinton Let Bin Laden Slip Away and Metastasize

Bill Clinton may not be the worst president America has had, but surely he is the worst person to be president.*

---GEORGE WILL, Sleaze, the sequel

Had George Will written Sleaze, the sequel (the "sequel" is, of course, hillary) after 9-11-01, I suspect that he would have had to forgo the above conceit, as the doubt expressed in the setup phrase was, from that day forward, no longer operational.

Indeed, assessing the clinton presidency an abject failure is not inconsistent with commentary coming from the left, most recently the LA Times: "Clinton Let Bin Laden Slip Away and Metastasize."

When the clintons left office, I predicted that the country would eventually learn--sadly, the hard way--that this depraved, self-absorbed and inept pair had placed America (and the world) in mortal danger. But I was thinking years, not months.

It is very significant that hillary clinton didn't deny clinton culpability for the terrorism. (Meet the Press, 12-09-01), notwithstanding tired tactics (if you can't pass the buck, spread the blame) and chronic "KnowNothing Victim Clinton" self-exclusion.

If leftist pandering keeps the disenfranchized down in perpetuity, clinton pandering,("it's the economy, stupid"), kept the middle and upper classes wilfully ignorant for eight years.

And ironically, both results (leftist social policy and the clinton economy) are equally illusory, fraudulent. It is becoming increasingly clear that clinton assiduously avoided essential actions that would have negatively impacted the economy--the ultimate source of his continued power--actions like, say, going after the terrorists.

It is critically important that hillary clinton fail in her grasp for power; read Peggy Noonan's little book, 'The Case Against Hillary Clinton' and Barbara Olson's two books; it is critical that the West de-clintonize, but that will be automatic once it is understood that the clintons risked civilization itself in order to gain and retain power.

It shouldn't take books, however, to see that a leader is a dangerous, self-absorbed sicko. People should be able to figure that out for themselves. The electorate must be taught to think, to reason. It must be able to spot spin, especially in this age of the electronic demagogue.

I am not hopeful. As Bertrand Russell noted, "Most people would sooner die than think; in fact, they do so. "

There is a difference in the parties that is paramount. The Democrats have no sense of shame. Schippers commented on the role of the media in the shameless activities of the Democrats. "The media is the bad guy," he said.

Regarding the illegal activities in pushing alien criminals to become citizens in 1996, Schippers really wanted to go after that case. They were ready to take the next step and was told that he had the support of the FBI. He believed that U.S. Attorneys were going to file criminal charges against those involved. But it was all suddenly shut down.

We talked about the comparison of 1930's Germany and 1990's United States of America. I told him how I had a discussion with Jerome Zeifmann (although neither of us remembered his name during our conversation -- sorry Mr. Zeifmann) in which I explained that it was before my time and I really never understood how a nation could have come to believe and accept that black was white and wrong was right. I didn't understand, that is, until I lived through the 1990s. Just as did Zeifmann, Schippers agreed with the comparison.

"Who is Juanita Broaddrick? I've never heard of her!" cried Betty Friedan, the founder of modern feminism. Friedan's outburst came at last Fridayís conference, entitled "The Legacy and Future of Hillary Rodham Clinton." Held at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington. D.C., the event offered a chilling microcosm of an angry, divided America.

For nearly an hour, a five-woman panel had been debating whether Hillary qualified as a "feminist heroine." I thought Broaddrick's claim of having been raped by Hillary's husband had some bearing on this point, so I broached the subject during the question-and-answer period. Friedan's dyspeptic denial followed.

Was Friedan telling the truth? Maybe. And maybe all those millions of Germans who professed ignorance of the death camps were telling the truth too. The problem is, having admitted her ignorance, Friedan showed no interest in exploring the matter further. And that was the problem with the Germans too.

Totalitarian impulses flourished at the conference. Taking a page from Soviet psychiatry, some Clintonites suggested that Hillary hating might be a mental illness. . .

clintonism and the theology of contempt
by Mia T

Let us hope that the rabbi's question was merely rhetorical. . . Let us hope that Rabbi Potasnik, and by extension, New York Jews, are not as credulous and obsequious and passive as they appear. . .

The simple answer to the rabbi's question is that the corrupt, self-serving, anti-Semitic, power-hungry harpy cannot be trusted.

Weren't we to never forget?

The Holocaust must remain, for Jew and Gentile alike, a constant reminder that mass credulity and obsequiousness and passivity are necessary for the demagogue to prevail.

To remember that six million Jews died in the Holocaust is to understand that centuries of anti-Semitic attitudes made this horror possible. We must ask ourselves what role our society played through the centuries that in any way contributed to the atmosphere that made such a genocide even thinkable.

Which brings me to the clintons and clintonism. . .

Senator Patrick Moynihan proffered one of the more incisive operant definitions of clintonism -- "defining deviancy down."

Defining deviancy down, indeed.
clintonism has made personal and public perversions, personal and public predations, not merely thinkable, not merely acceptable, but de rigueur. (Watch us spin. . . and spin.}

clintonism is the theology of contempt. Not merely toward "F___ing Jew-bastards" or "lazy niggers" or "extra-chromosome right-wingers" but toward any of us whose ideas are different from those of the clintons, Gore, and their acolytes.

So the real question to be answered is this:
"What fair-minded, clear-thinking person would want to continue
with its theology of contempt?
What fair-minded, clear-thinking person would vote for hillary clinton or Al Gore?"

On the Borking of Judge Pickering, Schippers was very unhappy with President Bush for not using his bullypulpit. "Pickering is a decent man," said Schippers. "He was unanimously confirmed last time. The local NAACP supported him. Bush should have been out there in front for him long before the committee fiasco."

FReepers in Illinois, Schippers is going to actively campaign for Republican Jim Durkin in his battle for the Senate seat currently held by Dick Durbin. He hopes you will get out and support Durkin. As a Catholic, he is disappointed and angry with Durbin's position, as a Catholic, to support partial birth abortion.

On Jesse Jackson, Schippers thinks the shakedown artist is in real trouble. He noted how Jackson had done well in a few primaries when he ran for president, but he was "whomped" back at home in Chicago. According the the late journalist, Mike Royko, the reason Jesse had such trouble in his home state was because "We know him."

is that Jackson offers up his unintelligible banalities in doggerel.

It is axiomatic.
Anything those three can possibly destroy, they will...
but only if they can line their pockets in the process...

Nine-eleven's cause and effect, these three inept, self-serving, racist, balkanizing, atavistic slugs are depraved and dangerous...
They continue to undermine Bush's war on terrorism.

To paraphrase Shelley:
Jackson-rodham-clinton
Bane of all genius, virtue, freedom, truth,
They make slaves of men, ruins of civilizations.

Schippers has agreed to be my guest for the next DFU Radio Hour on Radio FreeRepublic. I hope you will have some good questions I can relay to him.

Another Doug-From-Upland Scoop:
HILLARY AIDED AND ABETTED RAPIST HUSBAND

The rape took place while Bill was running for governor. Hillary came bursting into the room to talk to two people, one of whom I personally know. She said "You won't believe what this &^%$#@#$%^ did now. He tried to rape some b*tch."

It was the job of these two to squelch the story.

doug from upland to Shaun Hannity, WABC, 10/16/00

You had questioned the gentleman who drove you and Mr. Clinton from the airport. You asked him about me and if I would be at the gathering. Do you remember? You told the driver, "Bill has talked so much about Juanita", and that you were so anxious to meet me. Well, you wasted no time. As soon as you entered the room, you came directly to me and grabbed my hand. Do you remember how you thanked me, saying "we want to thank you for everything that you do for Bill". At that point, I was pretty shaken and started to walk off. Remember how you kept a tight grip on my hand and drew closer to me? You repeated your statement, but this time with a coldness and look that I have seen many times on television in the last eight years. You said, "Everything you do for Bill". You then released your grip and I said nothing and left the gathering.

What did you mean, Hillary? Were you referring to my keeping quiet about the assault I had suffered at the hands of your husband only two weeks before? Were you warning me to continue to keep quiet? We both know the answer to that question.

JUANITA BROADDRICK, AN OPEN LETTER TO HILLARY CLINTON

"I believed that he had done it. I believed her that she had been raped 20 years ago. And it was vicious rapes, it was twice at the same event." Asked point blank if the president is a rapist, Shays said, "I would like not to say that it way. But the bottom line is that I believe that he did rape Broaddrick."

Shays Shocker: Clinton Raped Broaddrick Twice

It's no longer acceptable to say that the abuse and mistreatment of women is cultural. It should be called what it is: criminal."

-- Hillary Rodham Clinton, addressing the UN, 3.4.99

As we've learned from the Juanita Broaddrick story (non-story, I should say) and countless others, the Clintons will do their best Muhammad Ali impression and play rope-a-dope one more time. Like they said - they've got to "get back to the business of the American people." You know - degrading the military, censoring the Internet, and bombing other countries. There's no time to deal with rape allegations or small details like a contempt charge.

---No Person is Above the Law

"Who is Juanita Broaddrick? I've never heard of her!" cried Betty Friedan, the founder of modern feminism. Friedan's outburst came at last Fridayís conference, entitled "The Legacy and Future of Hillary Rodham Clinton." Held at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington. ---Richard Poe, The Hillary Conspiracy

The clinton Rapes: Credit where credit is due...
Even hillary hagiographer, Gail Sheehy, concedes that hillary clinton deserves no less than half of the credit for the clinton rapes:
She made the money, she laid out the political strategy. She fought his political enemies for him. She gave him a beautiful child. She was an excellent mother. What more could you want in a political wife? So these other little escapades on the side were just, you know, white noise.

Historically, hillary clinton has always been a co-equal partner in clintoncrime.
Specifically, hillary clinton raped, too. For two decades, for power, for all intents and purposes, hillary clinton both provided and pinned her husband's prey as he raped them, again and again.

In a novel twist of logic and reality during the First Rapist's impeachment trial, the co-rapist portrayed the endless string of clinton rapes as significant clinton public policy, euphemistically dubbing chronic clinton predation "ministering to troubled young girls."

Mia T, First Rapist's Rose-Garden Escape: The Full Story

Arkansas nursing home operator Juanita Broaddrick told impeachment investigators she was raped not once but twice by Bill Clinton during a brutal attack in a Little Rock hotel room 22 years ago, Connecticut Congressman Christopher Shays revealed Wednesday...

Shays Reveals Details of Clinton's 'Horrific' Broaddrick Rape

Bill Clinton may not be the worst president America has had, but surely he is the worst person to be president. There is reason to believe that he is a rapist ("You better get some ice on that," Juanita Broaddrick says he told her concerning her bit lip), and that he bombed a country to distract attention from legal difficulties arising from his glandular life, and that. ... Thanks Mia. I'm still having trouble deciding who is more dangerous to America, Bill or Hill.

We've all seen some of the results of bubba's presidency. I'm sure we haven't seen it all yet. But then there's bubbette. Hillary is, IMO more focused than Bill. (she's not distracted by zipper problems anyway) She's cold and calculated in every move she makes. Bill couldn't live without people surrounding him, while Hillary seems to hate people. I really believe that Hillary gets her thrills from controlling/destroying people...does it as sport.

I still don't believe Hillary was "elected" a Senator by NY. Nobody I know voted for her. Most of the liberals I know in NY didn't even vote for her. They liked Bill, but hated Hillary. Still, she became a Senator.

Having said that, I'm terrified of the 2004 Presidential election. I believe Hillary will run. While we're still cleaning up the mess from eight years of the first Clinton, will Hillary get in to finish the job of trashing our country? Never say never.

Excellent observations.

I hope and pray that 9/11 has changed the calculus. If we extrapolate from Rosie O'Donnell, it has...

But you are right. The hillary clinton "infrastructure" is knocking off the dem '04 competition, one-by-one... I hypothesized as much in "The Daschle Scheme".

It is obvious to anyone who bothers to remove his political blinders. It is so patently obvious that even those whose political blinders are a permanently fixed fashion statement -- that is to say, even Hollywood -- can see it. (Just ask Whoopie Goldberg...or Rosie O'Donnell...) Bush's poll numbers are a reflection of this self-evident truth.

What is manifestly obvious and confirmed on a daily basis is the plain fact that Democrats are, by definition, constitutionally unfit to navigate the ship of state through these troubled, terrorist waters. Democrats were unfit pre-9/11, but few could see it then. It was 9/11 and its aftermath that made this truth crystal clear even to the most simpleminded among us.

Mia T, IT IS OBVIOUS

O'DONNELL: ...September 11 changed a lot of things for me, Bill. I will say this, before September 11, I was definitely mildly myopic in terms of my political agenda. If you were Democrat you were probably right, and if you were a Republican you were probably wrong. Everything changed for me that day.

O'REILLY: Really?

O'DONNELL: My entire worldview changed. If you would have told me September 9 that I would have been at the world series game filming George Bush throwing out the first pitch with my 6-year-old son crying, I never would have believed you, but I was. Because my whole worldview changed.

<snip>

O'DONNELL: Five hours a week and I've said some really stupid things. And Giuliani, you know what? Like most of the people before September 11, at least the Democrats in New York thought he was a fascist. And that's a very strong word. After the 11th, needless to say, in cheers on my show, I said I have found a tremendous solace and strength in him and his leadership, and I have looked to him as a child would a father and it astounded me.

Also I will say, Bill, that President Clinton and the saga that he went through with Monica Lewinsky profoundly changed my die hard Democratic stance in my own mind.

O'REILLY: So his conduct offended you?

O'DONNELL: Terrifically and still has. And I have yet to see him personally since that day.

O'REILLY: You know what really turned me against both Clintons, Hillary and Bill Clinton was...

You assume too much (and get too worked up) about too little...
My God, what does that say about you?

the contingency principle

by Mia T

A trait or strategy that is successful at one time may be unsuccessful at another. Evolution is not progress. Populations are simply adapting to their current surroundings. Populations do not necessarily become better in any absolute sense over time.

Take RAPE. It may have been an evolutionary imperative for Homo erectus in the Pleistocene Epoch, but one can hardly argue that it is adaptive behavior for Homo sapiens in the year 2000, Boy Rapist-President notwithstanding.

This contingency principle was demonstrated experimentally with a yeast culture that was maintained for many generations. Occasionally, a mutant strain would arise that increased reproductive success. These mutant strains would crowd out the formerly dominant strains. Samples of the most successful strains from the culture were taken across time. In later competition experiments, each strain would outcompete the immediately previously dominant type in a culture. However, some earlier isolates could outcompete strains that arose late in the experiment. (Would that we could put clinton in the Jefferson petri dish.) Competitive ability of a strain was always better than its previous type, but competitiveness in a general sense was not increasing.

Any organism's success depends on the behavior of its contemporaries. (If you doubt this, just ask David Schippers.) For most traits or behaviors, there is likely no optimal design or strategy, only contingent ones.

On April 25, 1978, in the Camelot Hotel in Little Rock, Ark., a nursing-home supervisor named Juanita Broaddrick was, she says, bitten and raped by the attorney general of Arkansas. As Joe Eszterhas describes it in ''American Rhapsody'':

''Finished, he got off the bed and put his pants back on. She was in shock, sobbing. He went to the door. He put his sunglasses on. He turned back and he looked at her. 'You better put some ice on that,' he said, and was gone.''

The alleged perp is now the president of these United States, and it's pretty clear that Joe Eszterhas thinks the story is true. (He says Broaddrick was ''as believable as anyone I'd ever seen on television,'' which is high praise in his idiom.) But, as he adds:

''It didn't matter. We were a tired people, tired of pornographic imagery on the evening news, tired of feeling we were mired in filth. This was the worst . . . and we didn't want to hear it.''

It all depends, here, on what the meaning of ''we'' is. For a start, who is Joe Eszterhas and how come he's our moral tutor in this fear-and-loathing tour of the Clinton sex scandals? If you've ever left a movie theater muttering to yourself, ''How'd that sucker ever get made?'' then you are probably familiar with Eszterhas's work. (I speak of ''Sliver,'' ''Showgirls,'' ''Jade'' and other insults.) Then again, if you've ever left a movie theater having had a slightly better time than you expected (''Music Box,'' ''F.I.S.T.''), then you have this hard-driving screenwriter to thank. Admit it, though, you probably know him from ''Basic Instinct.'' But since Hollywood's studio leadership has always been a reliable part of the pro-Clinton phalanx, you won't be seeing much of the Starr report on the silver screen. So when Eszterhas found himself consumed by the need to make sense of it all, his only recourse was a fact-based, ranting, rocking-and-rolling screed with none of the full-frontal scissored out.

The ''we,'' it turns out, is the Who -- at least in the sense of ''My Generation.'' Eszterhas feels betrayed by Clinton, precisely because he once believed in him. Believed in him, that is, as the dope-smoking, draft-dodging adulterer of Mary Matalin's encapsulation. The boy-prince of the Rolling Stone set. ''One of us,'' in Jann Wenner's own unashamed words. So this is a long yell of protest from a professional hedonist who, faced with the ugliness of professionalized hedonism in the White House, doesn't care for the refraction of the mirror ...

There are two or three chapters that rise above this, however, and that illustrate Eszterhas's hit-or-miss talent. He has acquired a real feel for the vulnerable, endearing, needy, hopeless character of Monica Lewinsky; the fat girl who was used and abused and who was only a fleck of evidence away from being denounced as a stalker and a mythomane. He fashions a near-brilliant evocation of the qualities of Vernon Jordan, the stoic and phlegmatic ally who knew exactly what he was doing, and who did it for a friend whose moral character was infinitely inferior to his own. And he is extremely funny about the shrink defenses that the first lady and other amateurs have proposed:

''A modern president, Bill Clinton was allegedly the victim of incest, pedophilia, child abuse, erotomania, sexual addiction, gambling addiction, alcohol addiction, rage addiction, wife beating, husband beating, grandfather beating, low self-esteem, jealousy and poverty. . . . There he was on television, this victim in chief, asking to be forgiven for something he wouldn't admit to having done.''

Finally -- and I curse myself for not noticing this at the time -- Eszterhas grabs the ironic coincidence of Richard Nixon's Monica. That's Monica Crowley, the trusting young intern and amanuensis who shared so much private time with the sage of Saddle River, N.J., and won his lonely, self-pitying and self-aggrandizing confidences only to make a book out of them. But at least Tricky Dick never told her that she might also share his life after Pat was gone...

The book begins with a puzzle: How did the flower children fall for such a self-evident thug and opportunist? And it offers a possible hypothetical answer, which is that ''the Night Creature'' -- Nixon -- and his heirs and assigns could not ever possibly be allowed to be right about anything. When Eszterhas writes about Nixon, and his admirers like Lucianne Goldberg, he hits an overdrive button and summons the bat cave of purest evil. He hasn't read as much recent history as he thinks he has, or he would know that his forebears were mesmerized in precisely the same way to believe that Alger Hiss was framed. Thus does Nixon inherit an undeserved and posthumous victory. If by chance we ever elect a bent and unscrupulous Republican president, he or she will have a whole new thesaurus of excuses, public and ''private,'' with which to fend off impeachment. These ''bipartisan'' excuses will have been partly furnished by the ''nonjudgmental'' love generation. If Eszterhas had had the guts to face this fact, he could have written a book more like ''F.I.S.T.'' instead of ''Sliver.'' Meanwhile, and almost but not quite unbelievably, we await the president's comment on Juanita Broaddrick's allegation.

You have an obsession with the Clintons that borders on insanity. That you even spend your time creating this idiotic rants against someone who isn't even in a position of power anymore is truly pathetic. Your posts read like a supermarket tabloid. Are you a housewife or something? I can't imagine how you have so much time to do something so utterly pointless and meaningless. GET A LIFE. Get past this totally bizzare psychotic obsession you have with the Clintons.

As I said, you assume too much. The posts actually take me very little time. If you'd prefer my response in psychoanalytic terms, it appears that you are projecting. Too much time on your hands, too little to do... eh? BTW, by making the basis of your argument the claim that the clintons no longer wield power only serves to expose your utter ignorance in the matter.
