Little things mean a lot to people. I, for one, am just happy to be here. Thanks! :-)

Unanswered question from a different thread.

Is anyone able to do a search for posts from a specific FReeper? For example, to search for Jim Robinson, you could use this URL (http://www.freerepublic.com/perl/latest?from_user=1). Now my browser switches over to (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/browse), when I try this.

YES! I've got a question or three. WHAT is going on here? I'm sick for a couple of days and when I com back, everything is confused. The last time I was on here, there was a flag on the left side. Now there is none.

The first time I clicked on today, it asked me all kinds of questions about my preferences that I did not have time to answer. I came back when I had more time, and now I don't get to answer the questions and set the preferences.

The first time I clicked on here today, I had bits of the Wisconsin forum running at the top of my page (a little confusing, since I'd been gone since Thursday). Now that feature has disappeared too, and it has only been about 3 hours since I last saw it.

I still haven't figured out where you get to select your sidebar. You know, that feature that everyone is talking about.

Please let me in on the secrets of the new forum. Why do I have to keep logging in? And, are we ever going to get spell-check???

Is there a way to get to NJ directly?

Well, I start out on the Ohio Turnpike and head east... Just kidding...I just couldn't resist :)

"How can I go directly to NJ without having to go to the whole United States of America first?"

Your best bet would be come in from the Atlantic Ocean, Port Elizabeth would be a lovely scenic treat!

Let thing settle out a little. Explore and learn. I'm sure JohnRob would like to answer every question but is probably swampped right now. I hardly ever read the manuals when learning new software. Jump in and push the button and see what happens.

Kudos to all involved on the current format. Nice, clean, easy to navigate, etc. Sure, you may have to look around for a bit, and the format may have changed a couple of times, but it looks like management is listening to the many suggestions.

I've refrained from commenting till now. I LIKE IT THIS WAY NOW!

Also, adding a Religion section was an excellent idea. I always thought that this should be done, but feared bringing it up because I thought people would misunderstand my intent. The closest I got was suggesting that a prayer thread for GW (as well as the GWB picture thread) should be in General interest since political discussion wasn't allowed. Somehow, I was labeled a Bush Basher for it!

I use the GW if I'm going to Boonton and the Lincoln if I'm headed toward Philadelphia...Just kidding...I know you live in NJ and you probably meant to ask, "...how do I find New Jersey?"

True to tell, dear heart...we go by smell.

The "Find in Forum" feature appears to have been RESTORED to individual profile pages!!!
Just click on any FReeper's screen name to get to their profile page, then click on "Find in Forum" - i.e.:
Jim Robinson
which now leads you to http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/site/user-posts?id=1

On the contrary. It's been put back in its proper place, but it has by no means been "restored" to full utility.

Entering parameters to constrain the search now yields only error messages.

For example, I could find all messages to me or any other freeper(s) by entering "to:SarahW" or "to:tinfoilcase"

A freeper could find all messages "by:freepername" or "by:SarahW".

More complicated parameters than that could be entered as well.

Please restore the quick search "find in forum" to full utility.
