How do you bookmark an article now? Been scratching my head on that one since before the beta. Thanks!

Any chance of making the titles a little bigger on the pages with threads and posts? These old eyes are getting older...just a little bigger would work well. You are using a san serif font, which is a bit harder to read at smaller font sizes.

WOW! Ask and you shall receive! Thanks, John! (PS, I'm not really that old...but sometimes my body acts older, LOL)

The FONT size is now BIGGER. Three Cheers my old eyes sure appreciates it. Please watch color combos though, as they are another visual thingee, not sure if it is a cataract side effect or what. I can't read red on black, lt. blue on dark blue etc.

The new floormat ain't bad.

I'm pleased with the pliability going on. (I won't say 'changes' because I like the tried and true way it was.) I'm sure John has been going crazy with all the shifting, pulling and pushing --- and comments from the likes of me and the rest of us who have been giving him adjita (sp?)

.I do have a question about the My Locale page. How can I go directly to NJ without having to go to the whole United States of America first? When this new format started, there was a NJ flag with a comment posted on the Latest page- meaning there was a new note posted. I didn't like that idea - having that distraction there, so I clicked it off from the NJ page. Now I get nothing -- no flag, no nothing. I tried reclicking n the NJ page, but still nothing. Is there a way to get to NJ directly?

Slightly O/T, but I'd like to suggest adding a generic XML headline ticker.

A headline ticker might save quite a bit of bandwidth if used properly. I've been thinking of working on a mozilla (also Netscape 6.x or greater) sidebar tab for FR that could periodically grab headlines, check for replies to posts, and show an alert when freepmail shows up in the inbox. A ticker would allow the tab to update a list of headlines without grabbing an entire page from the server. We could even hit the server with a HEAD request and check the timestamp, then request the XML only if it's been updated.

Just a thought.

Mutiple personalities? LOL Not in this smoothly functioning brain, just the formal "we." Happy Easter Sir Gawain! May you and your family have a joyous day.

This afternoon the FR tinkerers relented and brought back the old format. It's a good move and its human nature: people hate changing from something they're familiar with. With Windows XP, I switched the Graphical User Interface back to the Classic Windows Style. I'm used to working in that layout. If you asked most Freepers, they'd prefer the tried and true FR GUI. Heck if ain't broke, why fix it? So much for the makeover of our beloved conservative news forum.
