RAMALLAH, West Bank (Reuters) - Israeli troops opened fire Friday on the private offices of Palestinian President Yasser Arafat in the West Bank city of Ramallah, Palestinian officials said.

A Palestinian official said Arafat's life was in jeopardy.

Palestinians have been waging an uprising against occupation in the West Bank and Gaza Strip since September 2000. At least 1,107 Palestinians and 381 Israelis have been killed in tit-for-tat violence since the revolt began.

I agree, there never was a peace process. Arafat is quoting as saying a long time ago that the first phase was to secure territory from which to attack in order to gain it all.

Somehow the Palestinians can't even manage to finish the first phase, although they've had many chances. Hmm, could be because of some promises the God of Israel made to His people.

Thanks for posting Bush at the Wall - did my eyes good first thing this morning.

Great picture!

There are lot of us waiting to do that in Cuba to Tio Fidel's office and his grave when it comes. A fitting tribute to dead terrorists!

Paula Zahn gave free rein to Erakat, the Palastinian propaganda minister (and a raving lunatic)on CNN this morning. He must have spewed his evil lies for 10 minutes with barely an interuption. He was never challenged by the brain-dead Ms. Zahn.

Not only were the questions softballs, but were actually set-ups so he could spew on every subject possible.

I got to thinking. What if there was TV in WWII, and we were bombarded all day long with enemy propaganda from some Japanese warlord or Herr Josef Goebbels? I'll bet if there was a CNN network at that time, they would have put Hitler himself on the tube as many times as it could.

The enemy is both without and within.

I think they should isolate Arafat in a box about 6 feet long and 1.5-2 feet high...

These guys are as dumb as the Taliban. They refuse to fire from cover (or even lying down), and are easily picked off.

A Palestinian official said Arafat's life was in jeopardy.

Easy to remedy. Once it's ended, it will no longer be in jeopardy.

UPDATE 1 - Palestinian official warns of more suicide bombers

UPDATE 1 - Palestinian official warns of more suicide bombers

TOKYO, March 29 (Reuters) - A senior Palestinian official
visiting Japan said on Friday that Israel would face a wave of
suicide bombers if it continued with aggression against the
Palestinian authority.
"They are pushing more and more. If they continue there will
be a million suicide bombers," Ahmed Korei, speaker of the
Palestinian Legislative Council, told reporters in Tokyo.
"Every Palestinian will become a suicide bomber," he said.
Korei stressed that he and other Palestinian leaders all
strongly condemned suicide bombings, but said some Palestinians
felt they had been pushed too far.
Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon declared Palestinian
leader Yasser Arafat an "enemy" on Friday and Israel sent troops
into his presidential compound in the West Bank city of Ramallah.
Korei, who is also known as Abu Ala and sometimes mentioned
as a possible successor to Arafat, said the Mideast peace process
was now at a "very critical" stage as a result of the most recent
Israeli actions, which he termed "brutal and unprecedented."
"If this continues, the situation will be very, very
dangerous," he added.
"There will be confusion in the region. None of the
Palestinians will surrender and none of the Arabs will stay
silent."
Korei called on the international community to take steps to
halt the latest violence and singled out the United States.
"The United States holds the responsibility to ask Sharon to
stop this aggression," he said.
"They can do it and they should do it. It's the
responsibility of the international community."
He added that he had asked the Japanese officials and
politicians he has met since arriving in Tokyo on Wednesday, who
include Foreign Minister Yoriko Kawaguchi, to add their voices to
his in urging the United States to help.
"We asked them to call upon the United States to intervene in
a very serious way to stop this Israeli interference."
Earlier, Korei had told Reuters that by naming Arafat as an
enemy, Sharon was in effect naming all Palestinians as enemies.
"Because Arafat is the elected president of the Palestinian
people, when they called him an enemy they are calling all the
Palestinians enemies," he said.
"I think Sharon is pushing the peace process to collapse
completely."
Korei said he is in regular contact with Arafat and described
him as "steadfast and determined".
"We will defend the interests of our people," he added.
Korei met with Japanese Foreign Minister Yoriko Kawaguchi
earlier on Friday, and she was quoted by a ministry official as
telling him that both sides should restrain themselves and stop
pointing fingers at the other, as this could be worsening the
cycle of violence in the region.
    Korei leaves Tokyo on Saturday.

anyone give a rat's @ss what Europe thinks on anything

Would this be the same French who refused to assist the US with it's trial against the 20th hijacker?

The same EU who refuses to recognize or freeze the financial assets of known terrorist organizations within it's member countries borders?

The same EU who not one member nation showed up to an anti-drug trafficing meeting sponsored by the US in regards to drug sales being used to supply terrorists?

That is roughly a 3 to 1 ratio. At that ratio, I think the Israelis will lose.

Finally! A solution to the situation:

"Every Palestinian will become a suicide bomber," he [Ahmed Korei, speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council] said

They become suicide bombers and blow themselves up.

Earlier, Korei had told Reuters that by naming Arafat as an enemy, Sharon was in effect naming all Palestinians as enemies.

Nice try. Actually it was Korei himself who did that when he said that all Palies would become suicide bombers. That made the entire population legitimate targets of a military operation. Smooth move.
