gosh...this is too good to be true.

Thank you for posting this.
Simple truth is that the political stance she takes is the means by which she earns a very good living. Doesn't that end justify the means?

Lock her up !

"(W)hen the owner called in the checks, it seemed to me he spoke unnecessarily loudly, repeating and spelling my name over and over on the phone," Brady writes. LOL!
"You can't purchase a gun for someone else," Sitler said yesterday. "That would be a 'straw purchase.' You've got a problem right there."
To jail Sarah Brady because she broke a law she helped pushed through would be just too poetic.

"You can't purchase a gun for someone else," Sitler said yesterday. "That would be a 'straw purchase.' You've got a problem right there."So does this mean it is illegal to give as a gift a gun which was previously purchased? If not, what difference would it make if the gun were purchased specifically as a gift?

Sarah Brady: Gun Felon
Yeah, I'll be smiling about this for some time.
To: R2
So how does one get the Delaware Dept. of Justice to prosecute this felon, Brady?Good question. Any Delaware Freepers know any names, addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, etc.? This calls for a massive freep.

It's 10:00 am PST and the article appears to have been pulled. Either that or the server is overloaded by curiosity seekers.

Hi Squantos! I took your advice and ordered the Randall catalog. Can't make up my mind. May just go with a Model 14 with the micarta handle. Delivery date they quoted was July 2005. Sheesh!
I feel that it will be worth the wait. Been lurking over at the Randall Collector's Society. Thanks for the tip on these great knives!

Actually, it is completely believable. Liberals make laws for OTHER people and consider themselves exempt.
To: RJL
Actually, I dont't think she broke federal law. Note 1 on Form 4473 says "You are also the acutal buyer if you are acquiring the firearm as a legitimate gift for a third party."
See page 3 of form 4473 at the top under IMPORTANT NOTICES. She seems to have clearly violated Delaware law, however.

So does this mean it is illegal to give as a gift a gun which was previously purchased? No, it comes down to intent. If I buy a gun for myself then later on decide to give it to someone else, that's legal. If I buy it with the intent of transferring it to someone else, it's a straw purchase. I actually do think that Sarah may be correct about an exemption when buying a firearm as a gift for a non-prohibited family member though, but I'm not 100% sure of that -- the BATF forms are pretty clear about buying it for yourself, and I don't think you can say "no" to that question and still buy the firearm.
To: Eugene Tackleberry
Good catch. I was guess I never read the compendium of notes on the form!
