I did a search re the Presa Canario breed. I have had no prejudice against any breed of dog until now. From the photos and the description of their temperament, they make other maligned breeds look like pussy cats.

I really don't care the victim was a lesbian, or that the perpetrators were into beastiality. I am only stating from my own personal experience out in the San Fran area, that I do openly wonder what the Jury would have done had the victim not been a lesbian... You have a rediculous dynamic in SF... nothing is ever anyones fault, and excuses for everything are excepted for all things... unless the victim is homosexual.

After living there for over a year I cannot help but wonder would the jury have done the right thing (and don't get me wrong these verdicts were absolutely the right thing) had the victim been a heterosexual white male.

Probably on a conjugal visit, the dog was being trained specifically for the smell of Marjorie's private parts to bring her to sexual satisfaction (while the husband and friends watched)-really repugnant stuff.

Amen. That sex-with-dogs woman should have fried. She's lucky she got off as lenient as she did, and her husband is a major pig, too. By the way, I think the prosecution should have been allowed to bring up the sex with dogs aspect. Perhaps that's why the male dog mauled the poor victim to death; jealousy. Again I agree with the guilty verdicts... jeez.. why do I bother...

As for the husband I think he is guilty of murder as well.. the meer fact they kept these dogs as they did showed wanton disregard for human life... that is murder, not manslaughter even if you aren't physically present when the killing occurs.

OK, you lived here for a year. Take it from someone who's lived in this area for 14 years, and am still there and "plugged in", it would have made no difference if the victim were gay, lesbian, purple, Martian, Reform Party candidate, or whatever: the horrific nature of this crime pretty much dictated how it was going to come down. To suggest anything else trivializes the nature of the crime (and the sentence), and demeans the victim. Focus on what happened, not who it happened to.
