On another note, Tommy McCloskey, an awesome Irish Tenor introduced division #1 Bristol Pennsylvania of the Ancient Order of Hibernians to this ever lasting tribute to the courage shown by the FDNY on that terrible day.
What an honor to have people like this singing the tribute!

Great work guys.
Bumping in memory of my grandfather, Hugh O'Neill, 1903-1998. Would have turned 99 on this St. Paddy's Day. He was from County Tyrone and actually went to Dublin for the Easter Rising at age 13. You might say he was an Irish FReeper because he was fighting for a Free Republic of Ireland. Came to America in 1928 when he "got in a wee bit of trouble at the the border." - his words. (A real life "Devil's Own"?)
If he had heard this song, he would have laughed heartily and said in a still-strong Irish brougue, "Ah, for the luvva Pete!"

God rest my dad's soul, he was also born on St. Patrick's Day -- John Patrick Cogan. My grandfather came over here in about 1920 as I recall. He died right after I was born so I never had the chance to thank him for making this great land his adopted home.

What a great website! I played Mike Moran's song St. Pat's Day for the family. No matter how many times I hear it, it brings tears to my eyes. Not just from sadness but also pride.
