US Moves Equipment From Saudi Base to Qatar
Saudi Information Agency and STRATFOR Military/Strategic Forcasting ^ | March 19, 2002 02:40 Greenwich Mean Time | Situation Report Staff

U.S. military forces are moving out of Sultan Air Base Saudi Arabia, according to an unconfirmed report from the Saudi Information Agency, a Washington D.C. based dissident group.

The equipment is allegedly being moved to a military base in neigboring Qatar, which also hosts U.S. forces.

The report comes after a Washington Post story in January that quoted an unnamed Saudi embassy official as saying the kingdom would ask Washington to move its forces out.

If true, the move may be related to a possible military campaign against Iraq.

Go after terrorists where they live in the dark cracks of the world. Infiltrate, gain knowledge, asassinate, track the money and act accordingly to stop it and punish the source, confuse, propagandize them not us.

And your assumption is that we are NOT doing these things? Were you not listening to the part about cutting off their finances, intelligence agencies being focussed on terrorism, foreign countries arresting people, an information agency set up for getting the message to the Islamic world? ALL THESE THINGS YOU SUGGEST ARE BEING DONE!!!!

Iraq has weapons of mass destruction,a nd is trying to get a nuclear bomb if it doesn't already have one. They have shown NO hesitation about using such a device. They have refused to allow weapons inspectors in their country, in direct violation of their agreement with the UN. Whether they are directly linked to September 11 or not, they certainly are in cahoots with al Qaeda. Ditto Iran and probably North Korea as well.

Normal nuclear deterrence does not work with psychotic regimes. Removal of Saddam is the only answer, unless you eventually want to see him hold the entire world hostage.

how about governments for the people by the people. aren't we the country that is supposed to bring democracy to every corner of the world? human rights? exactly what part of this would be a problem? so are you saying it is better to let these people live under tyrants?

The part I'm concerned about is bombing people into submission. People will never be free and other tyrants will come to replace any we remove until the people of a country are ready to live free. Provide information and an example to foster that attitude and when and if the PEOPLE of a country desire to shed their chains then give our whole hearted support. I don't know if I ever read it is our duty to bring democracy to every corner of the world, maybe you could enlighten me on which one of our founding fathers said that?

Saudi's oil share in the marketplace is sliding quick and they're paying extortion money to AlQaeda.

They'll boil in their own pudding. I hope I see it real soon.

Never have too much confidence in men who are authoritarian in personality and wear dresses--transvestites, saudis, judges, clergy and academics, to name a few.

So lets kill him. We can read a watch from space. According to clinton we have technology that not only can tell if someone is in a building but who it is. Saddam isn't buried in an undergound iron bunker.

We've spent how many months trying to get OBL and now Bush says he's "virtually irrelevant". Do you think a man with infinitely more resources like Saddam will be easier if we take the same approach we did in Afghanistan?

If we are doing all the things I suggested we aren't doing them well. John Walker knew OBL was planning an attack and I believe he even knew a few details and he wasn't even trying.

But we should bomb countries and their people anyway? Obliterate the haystack to destroy the needle? And I guess China and Russia are next? Or maybe well get Iran, N.Korea, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, etc. first. Because we can.

You take care of radical islam by cleaning their clocks from the outside, working toward the middle, or by starting in the middle and working out. Either way, radical islam has got to go. It has abused the rest of the world a few times too many to be tolerated any longer.

The US Founding fathers said to stay out of others affairs but as of World War Two the US via the CIA and others have used propaganda, stuffed ballot boxes, bought elections, used 'sponsor a fascist' schemes, nation built, extorted, blackmailed, created sexual intrigue, sabotages, death squads, economic assasination, sponsored coups to over throw democratic elections, kidnapped and assasinated in Greece,Italy,Iran,Guatemala,Lebanon,Hungary,Laos,Cambodia,Haiti,Ecuador,Angola,Congo,Sudan,Dominican Republic,Serbia,Vietnam,Cuba,Brazil,Indonesia,Bolivia,Uruguay,Chile.

They've trained the KLA,the Taliban, recently even the PLO,now whether its fighting commings, protecting oil interests or whatever somewhere in there regardless of moral justifications or not is likely to be somebody thats pretty pissed.Theres people from all the above living here so national security Im sorry is a joke, its down to personal security.

"Imperialism" would mean that our military would be taking land away from other nations.

I agree but wouldn't leaving people their lands and dictating how it will be controlled after we destroy it be a form of fascist imperialism?

Nice assessment. Many people don't seem to think we're capable of doing those things, at least not when it comes to terrorists. I know we can and that's why I think this expansion of the war and the future expansions we will see must have an ulterior motive.

"BIMBO!!--as the Guy in the "Number Five is Alive!" Movie exclaimed!

The "ISLAMIC Sociopaths" will order MASS, MINDLESS, SUICIDAL attacks on ANY ENTITY or GOVERNMENT hesitant to foment their Islamic Agenda!

Until WE find & UTTERLY ERADICATE these Psychotic Sociopaths, ALL of "Western Civilization" is at risk!

The "Appeasers & Trimmers" of the "Traditional Islamic Cultures" are WAY "OVER THEIR HEADS" in this conflict.

The "Bad Guys" in our current conflict ignore traditional "Rules of Engagement" honored by BOTH "ISLAM," & "WESTERN RULES of WAR!!"

We are "Dealing With" a 21st Century version of the "Barbary Pirates!"

Our "World" MUST RECOGNIZE that our "Common Foe" is an UTTERLY MERCENARY & UTTERLY CYNICAL cabal of "Profit-Driven" Criminals!---The "Religious Beliefs" of Their "Putative Fellow 'Believers'" are merely a TOOL to Guarantee Profits!!

We are--once again--facing a Financial "Power Grab!!" I GUARANTEE our "adversaries" are LARGELY IGNORANT of the precepts of the "Religion" they claim to be Defending!

LOL.
Talk about putting words in people's mouths...

When China flies airliners into skyscrapers, sure.
As for the others? If they play the terrorist game they better be prepared to pay the price.

What planet you been on?
Even the Taliban was "left alone" until their complicity in the WTC Mass Muslim Murder was clear.

You may characterize it as "fascist imperialism" if hate America is your agenda, but no rational person would.
You wouldn't be a smooth, subtler member of the Muslim/Arabprop Tag Team, would you?

Yeah, I would believe Clinton as to our weapons capabilities. Right.

We are doing very well in our progress on destroying the terrorist infrastructure. BUT THIS WILL TAKE SOME TIME. There are 60 some odd countries with cells that we need to discover and disrupt and destroy.

I am convinced you haven't listened to one word the President said. He said that some actions we will never see. He said that this would take a long time. He explained why the Axis of Evil is evil. He told us time is NOT on our side.

Also, killing JUST Saddam doesn't do anything about his sons, who are in line to run things if he is gone, and they are just as bad as he is. Plus Saddam has doubles scattered throughout the country, and an elite guard that counts on their party staying in power so that they can continue their perks. They are not going to want to give up, either. And I would certainly like to have them out of power before they get their hands on a nuclear device.

This is not a Tom Clancy novel. The nation really is at risk. The President is trying to get people to take this seriously while avoiding panic and an economic melt-down.

Bottom line...I trust the guy to do what is right. You don't trust anyone. You need to realize that sometimes people ARE telling the truth, and I would bet cash money that Bush is an honest man.

The Arabs hate us because we are free

I think you've got the wrong hate group.
DemocRATs hate us because we're free.

Arabs hate us because the majority of Americans are not Islamic.

Well, of course you feel that way, it is only natural.

I remember a friend during the hippy days telling me
about how the young, that is people his age were coming into their own in government
and were going to change things and control the future, and I'll never forget what he said next.

"And you know, someday the young are going to come to us and say it's time THEY took control
...........................and boy are we going to step on them!"

Sleep well.

Amen. Certain isolationists on this thread can holler imperialism all they want. Imperialism doesn't bother me. Great Britain dragged many a dungheap out of the stone age via imperialism. Untold amounts of evil, barbaric practices were stopped under British rule. Every country colonized by them benefited by their presence, and suffered after their withdrawal. In my humble opinion we are a far better nation than Brittania was.
