The Republican Party of Massachusetts is a pathetic joke and Willy Weld shares a lot of blame.

There is another thing about Jane Swift and William Weld and Argeo Paul Cellucci. Each is a RINO rodent. Taxachusetts is a state whose Republican Party leaders (and I use that term verrrrry loosely) actually regard Mitt Romney as a dangerous right-winger, the same Mitt Romney who groveled on his knees while campaigning against Ted the Driver, pleading forgiveness for any accidental support of western civilization or its morals.

Although GOP activists who worry about losing the corner office often cite Weld as an inspirational figure, it is doubtful that he will be able to deliver large blocs of votes to her.

Well, let's see...Weld got tricked out of office with a promise of being ambassador to Mexico by Clinton (didn't happen...he can't even speak Spanish and he's pro-abortion). So, Celucci, who had no authority over the legislature became Governor. He was elected to the post he inherited because Massachustetts voters seem to realize that gridlock is our best option, and that might happen if the governor is Republican and the legislature is Democrat. But then Celucci becomes ambassador to Canada and we get pathetic Jane Swift as acting Governor (no academy awards here, but it is her actual title). Now, Mitt Romney might have been a viable candidate and instead of taking this alternative, Weld, Brooke etal support Swift. These people don't have a clue that the Repbulicans in this state want a real Republican to run for office.

So, they'll trash Mitt Romney, just to save the remnants of the party for the out-of-touch, not-really-Republican "leadership". And the best we can hope for is the most fiscally conservative Democrat, or some third party Jesse Ventura type who can get a plurality of the vote.

Do they have any idea that the real Republicans in the state almost don't care what they do anymore? These idiots should drop Swift and embrace Romney, or someone else who might be electable.

Right now, I'd probably be more electable than Jane Swift because a nobody would be better than someone who has been such an embarrassment.

The RINO's are coming, the RINO's are coming!

Even the Boston Globe editorialized to that point a year ago when it said that the problems in Jack Robinson's campaign for U.S. Senator showed that the Republicans are unable to "generate real competition for Democrats across the full range of political offices." The Globe opined that, "This may please Democrats, but it is not a healthy situation for the long-term interests of the public."

Since when has the Globe been concerned with the interests of the public? Or Republicans getting a fair shot for that matter?

A viable Republican candidate in Mass would be a Democrat in almost any other place.

Let me guess: depsite his supeficial conservative credentials, Romney is actually pro-abortion, pro-socialized health care, and anti-Boy Scouts for not being sufficiently tolerant and gay.

Aren't these positions that any viable political candidate in Massachussets is required to take?

Good riddance, to bad rubbish. She knew Mit was going to CLOBBER her if he ran.

She is citing "family" as her reason for quitting the race. What a load of trype.

She was a terrible leader without ANY real support from the republicans OR the people of the state. She has fired everyone who had any stones and replaced them with rubber stamp yes boys (note I did not say MEN, just look at who she chose as her running mate and you will get the picture).

Hopefully, Mit Romney can do for the state what he did for the Olympics = bring it in on budget and in the black. I also seriously doubt he will be picking a girley boy for his Lt. govenor.
