One does not have to be a believer in a prediction, but merely a transmitter of other strong beliefs. If you listen to the voices in favor of such an outcome, and there are many in California and Texas that are making that same prediction, one wonders if they know something I don't. If the INS is not working and thousands of illegals are crossing the borders each year and staying here, how long would it take for the "prediction" to come true? (this is a rhetorical question no one can answer).

Anyone, Fitz, who thinks that Rick Perry will win a majority of the Hispanic vote in in November 2002 is crazier than Andrea Yates! Sanchez is GUARANTEED the Hispanic vote.
To: CedarDave
You might be right..........only if the GOP nominates Him. if like fools they nominate Bradley......then Richardson will win..........

One-half right: NM First but not Richardson!
This is a good tactic by the Pubbies -- and ironic, too! Image if a Republican with a Hispanic name beats a Hispanic Rat with an Anglo name!! LOL
To: CedarDave
Wrong, CedarDave, there has already been an Hispanic governor: liberal Democrat Raul Castro in the 1970s in AZ. Also an Hispanic sentor: liberal Democrats Dennis Chavez and Joseph Montoya, both of NM.

How could so many Republicans be so wrong about the effects of mass Latino immigration on the future of the Republican Party? And be so pro-illegal alien amnesty? Money, Money, Money. They obviously live for the moment with no thought or care about tomorrow. The Stupid Party is about to become the Extinct Party.

He'll likely get my vote! Bradley's o.k. and probably more the traditional conservative. But we need to keep Richardson out at most any cost. Heck, he's nothing but a carpetbagger anyway. He came into the state to run for Congress and then moved up in the Clinton Administration. Will say anything to any group to get votes (remember he was pro-2nd Amendment when he was first running for Congress - very much doubt he is that way now).
To: Theodore R.
Forgot about him -- didn't he come right before or after Babbit? And New Mexico has had a history of Hispanic representation in Congress -- Though mostly Democrats (except for Lujan), they were a lot more conservative than todays Rats.

Anyone, Fitz, who thinks that Rick Perry will win a majority of the Hispanic vote in in November 2002 Don't say that! I'm looking for someone who'll bet real money that he does. I was hoping to get someone who keeps saying Hispanics are all Conservatives and can't wait to vote for Republicans to put up some money (big money) to back up their claim.

Hispanics are all Conservatives and can't wait to vote for Republicans to put up some money (big money) to back up their claim. I would consider that bet but according to you, those Mexicans are keeping you in the depths of poverty. It would do no good to make a bet with someone that can't pay off.

"Okay, bring up the race card again. Wow, you can be counted on to do that. Every time, I can assure you. Why do you hate white people so much?"
Your right. Pardon me for interjecting race into this argument.

This is how Bush did with each group: White males: 60%
White females: 43%
Blacks: 9%
Hispanics: 35%
Asians: 41%
Protestants: 56%
Catholics: 47%
Cuban Americans: 80%
Who did better than that? Maybe the Mormons.

It appears to me that, following the lead of G.W. Bush, Republicans care more about "cheap labor" for their businesses and pocketbooks than they do about either their country or their party. Yep. It's the Great Sellout of the GOP. Somewhere down the line the Republicans caught the disease of corruption that has infected the democrats for decades. Money and influence peddling rules the day with the GOP these days and the interests of the American people are nowhere to be found in their twisted agenda.

Somewhere down the line the Republicans caught the disease of corruption that has infected the democrats for decadesNow you're getting close to the truth. It's about power and the consequent flow of money from influence.
It's about pluarlism as a growing key to power. It's about an increasing trend toward victory without a plurality let alone a majority. It's about getting elected in a multicultural society.
It's about the most transparent kind of pandering to achieve political victory which leads to power and wealth. It's the "new" politics of the 21st century and 43 is good at it.

I know plenty of hispanic Republican Texans. They won't switch if we don't insult them. I also know plenty of Democrat bigots who won't vote for a hispanic Dem candidate.

"To me the trouble with Governor Perry, who ran unopposed in the Republican primary on March 12, is that he does not seem to be "in charge." We hear so little from him. "
No...IMHO...the problem with Governor Perry is that he is a RINO. He was a weak Lt. Governor and a weak Governor because he switched parties and tried to ride the fence. Blue dog democrats don't trust him and Republicans don't either. All the socialist dems don't like him either just because he is a republican. He is probably in the weakest position in the race. If he wins he will be a typical one term Texas governor.

"Ignorance is very sad"
Yes, it is. Yours.
"If most Hispanics are on welfare, how come so many(and most in many areas) work the lowest paying jobs, often at or near minimum wage?"
How? They do not have valid SSNs to report income. They go to welfare offices and receive it, no questions asked. Many live in public housing against the laws. Many get their elderly parents hewre for free Social Security, having not paid a dime into it. Many can get WIC by simply crossing the border then having an "emergency birth" at an emergency room, where the hospital cannot tell them to leave. The kid is now an American, by birth.
If so many are working and do not need welfare, or do not collect it, then why are more than 30% of welfare recipients Hispanic?
