It doesn't get any tighter than this in Senate elections: Not one of the 34 seats up for re-election this fall is rated a likely turnover by election analysts.
"It's unusual that at this point that you do not have a single seat that is likely to turn over," said Stuart Rothenberg, a veteran tracker of congressional elections.

A lot a Freepers may be wonder how they can help.
Your contribution to the National Republican Senatorial Committee is the best way to help us elect a Bush Majority in November. Please click HERE to give $51 -- one dollar for every Republican we need for a Senate Majority.
I think it's always better to give directly to the candidate. However, I suspect it's below the radar screen for most, or at least for me. I frankly couldn't tell you who was running in those seats unless there was an article in front of me. NRSC is an easy way for me to give (however, I suspect they have administrative costs that dilute the bang for my buck)
Sitting in California I just want to help...As an interesting footnote, my local House race has no Republican running against the incumbent (Tausher). So after donating to FreeRepublic, the next donation I make is to a cause that seems critical. Right now that appears to be the senate races although I'll throw a few bucks towards Simon for GOV....
Republicans gain two seats in the Senate unless John Thune beats Tim Johnson in South Dakota. Then I make it a three-seat gain.
Li'l Tommy Daschle will pull out all the stops to try to save his South Dakota colleague, because he realizes what a blow it would be to his chances (however dim) of running for President if he loses both his Majority Leader seat and a boatload of credibility even as Majoority Leader, by not saving Johnson.
And as for Tipper Gore running for the Senate, what a joke. Her husband the Gore-bot tried to jump start his campaign by giving her that legendary spooch at the Democratic National Convention. What's she going to do in return to try to jump start her campaign? Give him a Lewinsky on prime-time television?
The silly season is upon us. But the adults are still in charge nationally. After November, they will again be in charge in the Senate.

The big question is: can upstart, underfinanced, charismatic, conservative, Bill Salier beat RINO Ganske in the Republican primary.
Salier is cathing fire. Everyone who hears him loves him. I wouldn't count him out.
If I were Tom Harkin, I would be sending Ganske campaign contributions because I would rather run against Ganske than Salier.
If Salier wins this primary, Harkin will have a campaign like he's never had before.

Talked to a couple of people today that may be able to do Bill some good.
