Freepers-----Lurkers----- Supporters I have a message for you.
Every time we have a Freepathon I get hundreds of donations for very small amounts, with the statement " I'm sorry I couldn't give more.
When this statement comes in I type on the thank you note " Every Donation Helps BigTime" I have to type this so often I'm thinking of putting it on every thank you note, because it would save time. However, I realize some folks need an extra "pat on the fanny". : )
What I'd really like you to understand is that it was embarrassing for me to write the thank you to some donors when they put in the second and third and fourth $500 or $1,000 donations to get us to our goal and keep FR alive. I did not have to do that in the December Freepathon, nor will I have to do that this time, because of all the $5.00 and 10.00 donations.
You are the backbone of the Free Republic. Freeper is a very proud name. Stand tall, put your chest out, and know that your country knows you care. You are one of a very elite, very small percentage (2%) who care enough to help. God Bless you. Our countery needs you, and the Free Republic knows you are the heart and sole of America.
Will do on the canteen
This deserves to be said again. Thank you very much!
Free Republic is one of those rare opportunities in life where you and friends in the present can have a positive impact on the future.
The reality is in a world without Free Republic, we conservatives would not really have a voice and impact on the future of our country.
So for $5/month we can insure that Free Republic continues to be here for us and to impact the future of America. We can look at that $5/month as insurance for our children/grandchildren to have a future.
I'd like to remind everyone that the $5 donors are doing much more than their fair share. With 80,000 registered freepers (and who knows how many lurkers), and a budget for this quarter of $80,000, each freeper's fair share is $1. The $5 donors should be holding their heads very high, as each one of them is subsidizing 4 freeploaders.
It makes me squirm when donors of $5, $10, even $25 describe their donations with adjectives like "paltry" and "pitiful". The truly pitiful ones are the freeploaders. The $5+ donors should be regarded as generous philanthropists.
After twelve minutes, we take the plank and big bird out of the Weber. Then I throw away big bird and slice up the cedar plank. My family prefers the cedar plank over the super dry/tough big bird. We use Port Orford cedar planks!
not myrtlewood?
A couple of years ago, my wife, and I took the jet boat from Gold Beach on the evening run up to one of the lodges for dinner. The main entre was salmon done on cedar planks. It was delicious. I asked the Indian chef what type of cedar, and where I could buy it. He said that it was Port Orford Cedar and that Costcos that year were selling the planks. We bought a couple of packages after we got home. I use the same plank several times.
He, also, grilled some salmon fillets with a cedar stick stuck in the fillet and then the stakes were stuck in the ground around a big bunch of cedar hot coals. This is the traditional Indian way of doing. That was the best. Of course, the fire marshall would drag me off to jail if I did something like that at home. Besides the cedar would cost several hundred $'s (still cheaper than mrytlewood).

I guess we can forgive you, even though we explicitly asked you NOT to apologize! :-)))
