An Eagle Scout who was mistaken for a bank robber and shot in the face by an FBI agent in Pasadena on Friday remained in serious but stable condition at Maryland Shock Trauma Center last night.
Joseph Charles Schultz, 20, was shot at close range about 6 p.m. Friday when FBI agents searching for a bank robbery suspect pulled over his girlfriend's car.
Schultz, who lives in the 7900 block of Seabreeze Drive in Orchard Beach in Anne Arundel County and works with fiber optics for a local medical company, has no connection to the bank robbery, officials said.

Federal Bumbling Imbeciles.
There are many people who would make really great cops, but for the most part, they aren't drawn to the job.
So, you end up with a preponderance of currently on-duty policemen who either couldn't get into the marines, or guys who got picked on in high school, and guys who generally need a gun and a badge just to feel important.
Sadists, mouth-breathers, rapists, criminals, tyrants, and microcephalic social democrats.
Just ask Frank Serpico.
Sad.
You idiot.
Are liberals "perfectly justifiable" in their attempts to ban guns because some home owner accidently shoots his brother-in-law coming home late at night? Should rifles be confiscated from all gun owners because some cheesehead shoots his son when he mistakes him for a deer?
A VASTLY LARGE number of law enforcement officers carry weapons. A tiny number -- almost infinitely small when held up against the total number -- make tragic mistakes.
Just as the individual hunters who accidently shoot their friends and families (or strangers) are not evil because they make mistakes, neither are law enfocement officers evil because they make mistakes. And just as the whole category of hunters isn't evil because a tiny number make mistakes, neither is the whole category of law enforcement people evil because a tiny number make mistakes.
The same is true, of course, for gun ownership in the home.
Just as the individual home owner who accidently shoots a neighbor or a friend or a family member is not evil because they make mistakes, neither are law enfocement officers evil because they make mistakes. And just as the whole category of people who own guns at home isn't evil because a tiny number make mistakes, neither is the whole category of law enforcement people evil because a tiny number make mistakes.
Mistakes happen. They're horrible. When people deal with life-or-death issues every day, the kinds of mistakes they make are horrible by their very nature.
But don't be an idiot like the liberal dead-heads who generalize outwward from a tiny number of gun incidents to conclude that all guns are evil or that all gun owners are evil.
Law enforcement agents are not evil. Law enforcement agencies are not evil. Yes, mistakes happen. Yes, the mistakes are tragic and heart breaking. But the only EVIL people are the people who use EMOTIONS and BROKEN HEARTS to further this or that political agenda. The left are scum to do it about gun control. The libertarians are scum to do it about law enforcement.
It's that simple.
Mark W.
Because, he could.
If a Black were shot by a Federale, you know damned well that the world would stop spinning for the Black.
...I've had a rough day, so please stop the flaming, OK....
Sorry I opined!
I'm outta here!....Just leave me alone, I can't take the criticism today.
It's a book, a true story, written by a cop whose only crime was that he wouldn't take bribes.
His "Brother" officers thought he must ba a liability because he refused the criminal cash payoffs that all of them took. So they tried to kill him. Again and again.
Pacino played him [Serpico] in the movie. Great movie.
Bad cops. No donut.
In the Marxist Peoples Republic of Maryland virtually nobody has a CCW permit. Glad I moved to Colorado...
This at least deserves a reno like "Mistakes were made. We Bar-B-Qued them because they were small and looked just like chickens." speech.
Arrrrgggggggggggggggg!!!!!!!!!!!
Stay Safe !
You've brought up some very troubling facts and a rather sardonic analogy above, that is actually quite witty. :-)
I think the FR threads on this story clearly show a definite split between those who label themselves as "conservatives" between the following two camps:
1. Police-state apologists / fascist bootlickers / closet racist types
2. True conservative patriots who value human life and respect the U.S. Constitution
I don't see anything wrong with holding LEOs accountable for what they do or fail to do. When they act, they act in our name, using authority that we delegated to them. Thus we are responsible for seeing to it that they act properly.
A VASTLY LARGE number of law enforcement officers carry weapons. A tiny number -- almost infinitely small when held up against the total number -- make tragic mistakes.
Etc, etc...
The left are scum to do it about gun control. The libertarians are scum to do it about law enforcement.
Too bad there isn't an edit function here.
