You idiot.
Are liberals "perfectly justifiable" in their attempts to ban guns because some home owner accidently shoots his brother-in-law coming home late at night? Should rifles be confiscated from all gun owners because some cheesehead shoots his son when he mistakes him for a deer?
A VASTLY LARGE number of law enforcement officers carry weapons. A tiny number -- almost infinitely small when held up against the total number -- make tragic mistakes.
Just as the individual hunters who accidently shoot their friends and families (or strangers) are not evil because they make mistakes, neither are law enfocement officers evil because they make mistakes. And just as the whole category of hunters isn't evil because a tiny number make mistakes, neither is the whole category of law enforcement people evil because a tiny number make mistakes.
The same is true, of course, for gun ownership in the home.
Just as the individual home owner who accidently shoots a neighbor or a friend or a family member is not evil because they make mistakes, neither are law enfocement officers evil because they make mistakes. And just as the whole category of people who own guns at home isn't evil because a tiny number make mistakes, neither is the whole category of law enforcement people evil because a tiny number make mistakes.
Mistakes happen. They're horrible. When people deal with life-or-death issues every day, the kinds of mistakes they make are horrible by their very nature.
But don't be an idiot like the liberal dead-heads who generalize outwward from a tiny number of gun incidents to conclude that all guns are evil or that all gun owners are evil.
Law enforcement agents are not evil. Law enforcement agencies are not evil. Yes, mistakes happen. Yes, the mistakes are tragic and heart breaking. But the only EVIL people are the people who use EMOTIONS and BROKEN HEARTS to further this or that political agenda. The left are scum to do it about gun control. The libertarians are scum to do it about law enforcement.
It's that simple.
Mark W.
It's a book, a true story, written by a cop whose only crime was that he wouldn't take bribes.
His "Brother" officers thought he must ba a liability because he refused the criminal cash payoffs that all of them took. So they tried to kill him. Again and again.
Pacino played him [Serpico] in the movie. Great movie.
Bad cops. No donut.
I don't see anything wrong with holding LEOs accountable for what they do or fail to do. When they act, they act in our name, using authority that we delegated to them. Thus we are responsible for seeing to it that they act properly.
A VASTLY LARGE number of law enforcement officers carry weapons. A tiny number -- almost infinitely small when held up against the total number -- make tragic mistakes.
Etc, etc...
The left are scum to do it about gun control. The libertarians are scum to do it about law enforcement.
Too bad there isn't an edit function here.
You missed the point entirely you "idiot"! (Your word) I realize people make mistakes. When they do I expect them to step forward and take responsibility for their mistakes. The FBI is covering this up and hoping to sweep it under the rug. That is what makes me angry.
If you want a government that is not answerable for its mistakes, then perhaps you would be happier living under a dictator somewhere. A pity the Nazis were not more successfull, you probably would have felt right at home living under them!
That's pure BS, Why do you have a problem with LEO's being held to the same standards as civilians? because you are a LEO.
Yes, dear mistakes do happen, but we must try to ensure they do not happen.
Avoiding mistakes is not done by stonewalling and lying and celebrating the shooting of innocents while denying medical treatment.
We avoid "mistakes" by holding those who make them accountable, not by denying they made one in the first place.
I see your anti-liberarian slip is showing, and we can see what you motivation in this incident is.
BTW, one does not need to "demonize" LEOs, they are taking care of that themselves.
