Can you imagine going into a battle with a gun -- yet keeping it in your holster while your enemy cuts you to ribbons with a knife, because you "don't want to take unfair advantage"?

Unfair advantage? When has this been the case in Afghanistan?

I suppose that I'm biased in favor of the lighter Blackhawk platform. Of course, a Blackhawk can't tote around a decent-sized artillery piece, I suppose (of course, B's can haul around the small stuff).

I had a chance to get into Blackhawks when they first entered the Army inventory, but turned it down and stuck with the Chinook. The "D" model Chinook was a huge improvement over the "C" and the MH's are better yet. The Chinook has pulled my bacon from the fire more than once. It's a good aircraft.

Maybe not. But if so, it is despite the feminists and Liberal Democrats--not because of them. There is a feminist front organization called DACOWITS that has spent about $1 million of taxpayer money each year sending its DoD-appointed membership out to badger and hector battlefield commanders into placing women in specialized combat teams. DACOWITS had a field day during Clinton's administration.

The Marines resisted the worst of this political correctness assault as did special combat units including the Rangers. It's a good thing they did. Otherwise we would likely have suffered far more casualties and deaths than those reported to date--and the additional numbers would not have comprised women alone.

Heaven save us from the liberal Democrats. Our external declared enemies we can generally handle ourselves.

But where exactly is "this war"? Afghanistan, Central Asian republics, Georgia, Philipines, Somalia, Yemen, Colombia and others in ever expanding list? Add Iraq for a good measure so the staunch secularist regime in Bagdad is removed to make more place for Muslim fundamentalist. When will it end?

My prayers are with the families of the American troops. These are our finest young people and we must keep our support of them at the high level it has been at.

Dashele, Hollings, and Byrd have been talking about exit strategies, failure, and cutting off the funds. Talking out of the other side of the Democrat's mouth has been Lieberman calling for more US troop participation yesterday. I am quite sure that they will be callous enough to use this against Bush some time in the next several days. These people are opportunists of the lowest order.

Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, D-S.D., faults the administration for what he sees as lack of a clear direction while expanding the anti-terrorism campaign globally.

"We really don't know what the direction is, frankly. We talk about going into Yemen. We're talking now about going into the Philippines and other places," Daschle said on "Fox News Sunday."

"... Before we go into a lot of these other locations, I think it is important for us to better understand what our purpose is, how long will we be there, how many troops will be there, how does it affect our efforts in Afghanistan."
