Report: IAF jets bomb Ramallah targets
Israeli Air Forces F-16 jets are bombing Palestinian Authority police headquarters in Ramallah at this hour, according to Palestinian sources.
The sources also said helicopters fired rockets at offices adjacent to PA Chairman Yasser Arafat's compound.
Elsewhere, IDF tanks shelled the PA's General Intelligence Service headquarters in the West Bank village of Salfit earlier this morning, Israel Radio reported.
There are no reports of Palestinian casualties in either strike.
The shelling and air raid come in the wake of this morning's lethal shooting attacks on a civilian convoy and soldiers at an army roadblock near Salfit, as well as another deadly shooting attack in the Gaza Strip.
Nine Israelis were killed - seven soldiers and two civilians - and at least six are wounded after Palestinians opened fire at the roadblock, close to the Samaria community of Ofra.

One Israeli was killed and four wounded, one light to moderately and three lightly, in the Gaza attack.

Thank you. We now return you to your regular postings.
It seems to be Islamics who keep blowing up innocent people, Hindus, Christians, Jews, athiests.
I hope and pray that your analysis is on the mark, I think it very well could be.
I even have more respect for Barak now.

Both sides are guilty. I concede that the Islamics may be more so in terms of the general attitudes held by the people. But the Israelis, with their superior might, have a greater capability to manifest their bigotry and hatred into massive force. And the posters here are clearly advocating that.
As the volume of the rhetoric gets turned up, the potential for this to be unleashed becomes greater and greater. Needles to say, Sharon's incompetence has been counterproductive to our own war on terrorism as the Arab world becomes more and more energized with every knee-jerk Israeli action.
Unlike our war, the Israelis have no strategy. Some among the Israeli leadership want to ethnically cleanse the Palestinians from the occupied territories; some want to build a border and a fence, and according to a recent poll by Maariv 42 percent of Israelis themselves actually support the Saudi proposal to go back to the 1967 borders. So Sharon is politically hamstrung, and his coalition government is in clear danger of collapsing.
On the other hand, there is virtually no opposition to Arafat and terror among the Palestinians, in spite of the fact that the people have fared worse under PA rule than Israeli rule. In fact, I dare say if Arafat were killed by the Israelis, a far worse head would grow in his place. Look to John Locke and Thomas Jefferson if you want to know why. People will live free or die. It's as simple as that. Every idiot Palestinian kid who straps a bomb to himself is making that choice. And there seems to be an endless supply of them.
The point is, none of this should be any of our business. Both sides are hellbent on self-destruction and so long as that is case, neither side deserves our sympathy and support.
We Americans do not colonize territories after we defeat them in war. After WWII Germany became German; Japan became Japanese. We count both countries among our biggest allies. Even today, we are not sending real estate developers over to Afghanistan to carve out new American settlements. So why should we condone such things from our so-called friends and allies, who then claim they are the victims when the people displaced take retribution?
The reason we can turn Germany and Japan into allies whereas the Israelis cannot live in peace with their neighbors is that the Israelis have attempted for 35 years or so to keep the Palestinians down by brute force and have done nothing to promote pluralism, democracy and peace. They pay the price for that today as now all generations of Palestinians are untited intheir hatred of Israel.
No, the Israelis don't deserve our support any more than the Palestinians do. A pox on both their houses.
Is he still paying that? I haven't heard anything in so long, I thought maybe he'd stopped. Yep: if your a Palestinian family short on cash, just strap a bomb to your kid and send him out to blow himself up...or just shoot him in the back during a Palestinian riot and blame it on Israeli troops.
If that were true, there would be no United States of America. And what about Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, hmmmm?
Yes, you are right. I will now immediately turn my sympathies toward state-branwashed, Palestinian suicide bombers who blow up babies.
Get it straight: Yasser has always been, and will forever be, a terrorist. The path of continuing terrorism is his own choice.
Yasser is a dictator. The Palestinian people have no freedom whatsoever. Their only sources of news are state controlled. They have enough to do just trying to feed their families. They are crushed under the bootheel of Yasser and his minions. They have no voice. The Palestinians so loved by the media, chanting death to Israel are the minority.
Sharon did nothing wrong by visiting a Judaeic holy site. His action in 2000 certainly did not warrent such rotten, putrid hate crimes committed against the citizens of Israel by Palestinian "activists".
I believe it was Qaddafi who offered the $10,000 to the family of any Palestinian "martyred" during the intifada. Coincidentally, bounty was offered at about the same time Mr. Sharon made his fateful visit to the Temple.
After that offer was made, Palestinian violence increased tenfold. Coincidence? Maybe. Maybe not.
As long as innocents are murdered by Palestinians, the violence will "spiral out of control". We all want it to end.
SOME of us want the continued existence of the state of Israel as well. As long as Israel is under attack by cowards who HAVE NO WISH FOR PEACE, we will continue to back Israel's right to defend itself.
The terrorists don't want peace. Terrorism isn't just a lifestyle to them; it's a CAREER. If they worked for peace, they'd be working themselves out of a job.
I said the same thing about the IRA, years ago. It's the truth.
Well, clearly that is not the case at all. The US pushed from one coast to the other defeating both the locals (Indians) and competing settlers (Spanish and others) until no border represented a real imminent threat.
That has seldom even been the case in Europe, even up to 60 years ago when WWII smashed through border after border.
There isn't much difference with Israel and her neighbors. And I think the idea that if only Israel would hold the line here or there, everyone would be happy and peace would break out, is a bit naive.
You could call it a death wish. Its kinda creepy, but they see themselves as martyrs of the jihad. Killing Jews is good, but dying for Allah, well, thats the best.
They enjoy feeling like they are victims of a grand conspiracy. They enjoy their hate and suffering.
What can you expect from a culture where a big put down is to tell someone that they "love life too much"?
Open your eyes. If this was true then tell me why the Israelis allow Arab Israelis to vote?
The only pluralism, democracy and peace for Arabs in the Middle East is for those who live within Israel.
