It was more likely that I heard it on Fox, but was busy and missed some of it. For some reason 12 sticks in my mind. It was 12 years ago or the child was twelve and it was a woman doing the report. The report was given on the same day they reported that the child's blood was found in his mobile home and on his clothes. My ears perked up when I heard it and my husband and I looked at each other and it was implied that this guy may have been doing this for years, if he indeed, did it. In the past case, it may have just been a missing person case and no body was ever found.

will SDLE be able to determine if the body was placed AFTER Westerfield was taken into Police Custody?

They'll be able to tell--approximately, of course--when the body was placed at the site by using forensics. It's done by examining the site, seepage of body fluids, animal activity, flies, etc.

They have not denied the allegations that they are swingers. Why would anyone not deny this allegation at such a time? Logic dictates the answer.

It's odd, is it not, that only one person has "reported" this, claiming high police officials leaked this to him. Police don't leak to only one person. They spread the leaks around, usually leaking to reporters that work the police beat. They might have even included some names of persons who participated so the story could be confirmed.

Given the intense publicity of the case, and the number of reporters swarming all over the area, not one other media source has been able to confirm the rumors. If they had, they'd publish it (print) or report it (radio/TV). Every reporter wants a scoop and I'd suspect that the national tabloids would be all over this. You can bet they're working this story hard. So far, all they've come up with is rumor and innuendo and gossip on an internet forum.

The prison guard that kidnapped and raped a girl in our area a few years ago bound her with duct tape and tossed her in some bushes near a road, thinking that, because he had taped her nose and mouth shut, that she'd die there (she survived; he committed suicide in jail when the DNA evidence came back). The area in which he dumped the girl was not visible from the road in a car, but--had she not gotten free--she would have been seen by someone walking, or perhaps someone going by on a tractor.

Westerfield did dump her body in a spot in which it was difficult enough to find, despite the intensive search efforts.

You do the math ! Or how a bout I spell it out for you and your students. More children,Parents,and Perverts(increased population) lawyers who will try to make sure the pervs don't get the death penalty. Basically nothing stopping the pervs from doing what they want. Police protection in jail or prison,the pervs are kept in their own cells (they are considered lower than dog dirt in prison, and would be killed by other prisoners)Three meals, color T.V.,all the books you can read, a union! There is basically nothing standing in their way! They will suffer no pain or fear like their victims do!They will live at least twenty years before getting gassed. No BIG DEAL, TO THEM!

I agree. Swift - no more than 3 years should be allowed for appeals. 12 months if there are special circumstances.
