If Daddy was home passed out (thus not hearing a commotion), and Mommy got home to find the door unlocked; clearly the perp knew their customary habits and what time would be the right time to strike.
Can you imagine the additional anguish and guilt they must be going through, likely blaming themselves?
Are they blameless? No. But let's not forget they have been pretty much cleared of the act by the investigators on the scene; the alleged perp has been arrested. HE would be the criminal if proven guilty, not the parents. Let's not forget to punish any one actually found guilty here while we punish those with bad judgement.
Please understand, I'm not defending their bender, let's just convict the true perp, who ever it is, and not allow this smarter-than-average Freeper community to decend into media hype.

Following I-8 eastbound towards the Imperial Valley, the area where the body was located would be southeast of the east side of El Cajon, CA. Easy to detour off of I-8 to make the dump, and return back to I-8 heading east on towards El Centro, CA/Yuma, AZ. Where he supposedly went camping.

Genovese claims that Westerfield was home around 10:30 P.M. He woke the next morning, and loaded up his Motorhome. He left his house for the desert around 9:45 A.M. He said that Westerfield is a clean freak, and that he always cleaned the Motorhome like he did when he returned. He had no comment about the DNA and Blood evidence however....
He does imply that Westerfield was framed. Guy sounds fairly credible, but hard to tell. Need more Freeps to listen and post their spin on the interview.
Genovese denies that Westerfield is a member of Mensa! Fascinating interview, especially in light of today's tragic events. Does San Diego Law Enforcement have the right guy? I want to read that diary......
Gorio, question. If Westerfield took the child, and committed the crime, and drove the green trail, as the map shows, then why not dump the body in the desert, where it would be unrecoverable? Why just a few feet off a road, not buried, not disguised? Unbelievable events IMHO.....FresnoDA
The San Diego area and desert is a rather large mass of land to search.

2. the forgiveness letter
3. the diary
4. told our nation the darkness of her room
5. brought the police back to her room with "luminol" chemical
6. told the police of the forgivness letter in the master bedroom
Mr. van Dam is in complete control, he runs everybody. Your points are intelligent and on target.
The Nation will be shocked with what really happenned.
My hope is to be used in anyway to help children here in the U.S. and worldwide.
I am not a stupid 40 year old man that would risk libel suits. If I was a user I would have sat back and watched the money come in from being involved with a missing child. To date MCF, and or myself have received no money or donations.

Danielle, I hope you are in place called Heaven, I am sorry I came late but I heard your cry. Your sacrafice has changed me, you have brought me closer to God and prayer...
I have received hundreds of letters mostly horrible, I hope you continue to write me. Do not believe in me, I am only a man, but my heart is sincere, and is real.
Sadly, for the father I was the worst person to be "let" in their home. I would not allow him to control or abuse me. I never promised to be their friend, I was there as an advocate for Danielle. I believed she was alive, until after 7 hours of lies. "when I left I knew one thing, they knew (changed word)DARN well she was not coming home".

If you are suggesting those two killed their own daughter, I would submit to you that:
a) Anything is possible,
b) The DNA evidence won't lie.
c) The cops think clearly think differently.
d) Cases like this are frustrating (to say the least) beyond imagination. Even if the body is not Danielle, it is someone's baby girl; let's pray for her.
