Spam? Just delete it and don't read it. The Subject line almost always identifies the content.

Go look at some of the links Cindy posted. I was surprised at what I read. I was like you and just thought if I delete the spam that's enough. There's more to it. The 'SpanAbuse' link is really informative.
Thanks, Cindy for posting this!

re: post #6 My DELETE button is one of the most used keys on my computer keyboard.
I receive several hundred or quite a bit more (depends on what day is) e-mails. Sometimes an e-mail subject line may read for example "a message from Robert."
Sometimes, it really is a message from Robert or Linda or John etc. commenting on a web site or article, etc. Many times though, it's just another bulk/garbage e-mail.
I guess the point is though, from the "You Can Find Anyone, Anywhere" to "Hot Chicks in Action now" to "Enlarge your penis 3 sizes;" I never signed up for this garbage. I semi-appreciate those messages that put the term "ADV." in the subject line. I delete those right away.

You've got to be kidding.

Add a bunch of four letter words to your filter settings..
It's great for getting rid of unwanted "adult" spam.
(as well as unwanted correspondence from the ex.)

Spam? Just delete it and don't read it. Nope; that's the same level of craven surrender as "Just Move On". Trace the perp and report him to his ISP.

It's really more than that - many of these spammers can't be traced - they send backdoor files that can reveal the content of your computer and who knows what other devious things are done. I strongly suggest everyone to get a firewall like Norton so you can see how many times others try to infiltrate your computer.
I get alerts from S. Korea, Czechoslovakia, Bejing China - and I even got one from Reston Virginia (home of the CIA) - no kidding.
It really is a creepy feeling when I get these alerts - it really is a sense of being violated. Something definitely needs to be done.
