I'm still waiting for someone to answer the very important question about the alleged O'Donnell sisters.

I should have left the "to" field blank but forgot. Sorry.
To: discostu
We certainly can't leave unwritten rules unenforced.

If you'll check the history of the sport you'll see that it's rare to the point of almost never happening for a routine that has already won a medal to be awarded another medal, especially if it's being retreaded in one of the big ones. You're pretty funny. You complain about how figure skating is not a sport, because its subjective, then you give all these lame excuses for the judges' ridiculous scoring. Never before Monday night have I seen figure skaters perform so poorly and win a gold medal. In fact, never before, in any judged event have I seen such a poorly executed performance get awarded first place. The Russian sucked big time and everybody knows it.

I watched enough. FS for me exists as something to be made fun of inbetween watching good winter events. And I do think the ISU guy did a good job. The press only had two questions: 1 - are you going to give the medal to the Canadians, 2 - are you going to completely reinvent the sport. And they kept finding new and stupider ways to ask those same two questions even though everybody that can run 3 braincells together knew the answer to thoses questions yesterday (no on both counts). It should have been a 5 minute press conference, but those idiots in the press kept hounding and hounding finding new and exciting ways to be annoying.

Fine, there are some unwritten rules about retreads, but your exaggeration was too great to let it pass...the Canadians and Russians would've needed a crash worthy of NASCAR to fall below the 3rd or 4th place teams (actually, the 4th place team should've finished out of the top 10...they were atrocious, but then again they were Russian, so they got the bonus points for "artistry"...)

I'm still waiting for someone to answer the very important question about the alleged O'Donnell sisters. I could only tell for sure by . . . oh, never mind. It's a family forum.
To: DJ88
I love how YOUR ASSUMPTIONS are things we ALL KNOW. What I KNOW is that the Russians performed a harder routine that was more artistically pleasing. In case you didn't notice the Russians didn't fall on their butts either, came close once but kept cheek and ice seperate.
To: Petronski
If the press is so outraged, why doesn't NBC just refuse to cover the skating?

? And where did the Canadian girl, Jamie, EVER say that winning the silver is "losing".I don't know one stupid announcer from another, but I did hear her say exactly that during an interview after the performance. Calling winning silver a loss turned me very off.
To: Petronski
. I thought the judges were shocked to hear booing at the scores, which is very rare. I would agree with you.....except it is being reported that IMMEDIATELY upon leaving their positions 3 judges APPROACHED reporters and said they were ASTOUNDED and had no idea how the russians could have won....that tells me what the were thinking when the scores went up and why they looked dumb founded....

Ugh, is that Chinese judge male or female????
To: staytrue
Missed a few rules:
- Wear the right costume -- sparkles and/or feathers are a plus -- grey is a no-no
- Don't have sweaty pits (esp. girls)
- Wear a proper bra (ditto)
- Don't skate to "cheesy American movie music"
- Don't get hit in the knee by a jealous opponent -- thereby creating a "media scene"
- Have a good sob-story -- extra points for overcoming a near-death experience or having to scrape the ice because your town rink can't afford a zamboni
Any more ??

...that tells me what they were thinking... What those three were thinking...
To: Pres Raygun
Hey the rules are as the rules are. Just because I think they're stupid doesn't mean they shouldn't be followed. With the rules as they are, considering BOTH the short and long programs the Russian's won fare and square. Anybody who doesn't like it just being obsessive.
