KOGO AM 600 talk show host Roger Hedgecock has just broken the story that the INS has arrested ten illegal aliens (he gave the nationalities, but I can't recall any other than Honduras) at the Point Loma nuclear submarine base in San Diego. The aliens were employed by a contractor and were engaged in the sandblasting and painting of a nuclear submarine! 5 of the aliens had obtained base clearances, and 5 had not. Some aliens fled at the approach of the INS, causing the lockdown of the base. 2 were later apprehended when their hiding place was located. When the INS refused to comment, the KOGO news staff requested the name of the FBI agent in charge of Homeland Security for the San Diego area. They were told that there was none.
Duly noted, sometimes a big font says so much, other times; NOT.
We have been shouting loudly for months. But until our policy toward Illegal Aliens and Aliens in this nation changes, PRONTO, we are at risk. Unfortuneately, our country will not do anything until another disaster strikes. And the next event could make the WTC pale in comparison. Hope that is not correct......
More socialist scare tactics and baloney from Poobah. The fact is she and the socialist liberals do not want the illegal aliens to be touched so they can vote the liberals and socialists into office.
The illegal aliens can indeed easily "be touched" by US law enforcement once they get the man power and budget and political green light.
Poohy on you Poohbah, you can do much better than repeat the same old worn out socialist scare tactics.
Poobah, dear old lassie, you need to leave this problem up to men and classy ladies.
As for physically tracking its bearer, it could only do that either (a) when presented for access to government facilities or (b) when presented for travel. At that scale, it's more of a tracking datum than anything else. As for centralizing the databases: well, it's coming, no matter what. I propose capping the overall database storage limit at a fairly low maximum per legal resident. Just have enough for the ID verification data--but not enough to maintain any sort of long-term history of movements.
We're getting dangerously close to losing one of our last rights - unfettered physical movement within our own borders.
The Constitution isn't a suicide pact. The solution on that issue is a watchful citizenry. But if we don't start sorting out who belongs here and who doesn't, then we're going to have a huge problem: even assuming we DO get the border under control (which probably would take prohibitive amounts of manpower to get it airtight--and LESS than airtight means you still have a LOT of leakage), we have 8-10 million illegal aliens of various nationalities already here.
Thanks for posting it.
What a wonderful sight to see a beutiful "Boomer" !!
These babies (Ballistic missile subs) are what really keep the peace these days.

Indeed they do. But I ask you (for the SECOND time) for a detailed solution to the border issue.

Oh, really? Would you mind explaining just how they would be identified as illegal aliens?

I merely repeat my call for a realistic OPLAN for dealing with illegal immigrants. You saw fit to not bother trying to answer that question. I've noticed that about you: when pressed for information, you refuse to provide it until you're exposed for the lame poserboy that you are.
Poobah, dear old lassie, you need to leave this problem up to men and classy ladies.
Paddie, me lad, you need to leave this problem to the people who have a clue. Subtle hint: you ain't one of them.
Same here, I was AFSCC. We not only had armed guards outside our communications compound, we had armed guards inside the compound. Then I spent 2 years attached to SAC. (Strategic Air Command) Talk about security. If you didn't have the need to know, you just didn't get on base much less near secure areas.
My, how things have changed.
*pdr* comes pretty close, para los palabras: *Porciones de risas*.
I am glad to see finally people are checking backgrounds. Let's see, that only took almost 5 months, that's all.
It ain't gonna happen though. The reasons being: (1) Common sense went out of fashion years ago, (2) the republicans support cheap labor and (3) the Democrats want uneducated voters. We're beating our heads against the wall if we think anything significant is going to be done about this problem.
Every poll I have seen suggests that the American people want illegals out by something like 3 to 1 or better and tighter controls on the borders. Well, guess what y'all. Politicians on neither side seem to care what the people want. The government has a different agenda and the people be damned.
