Way too many vanity threads lately. And way too much trash being posted. Please try to stay on topic (politics). Also, please do a search on a significant word from the title of your article before posting. This will reduce the number of duplicates. And, along these same lines, please use the original titles on your article posts. Do NOT edit the titles. Do NOT use "My Title" titles. This will also help to reduce the number of duplicates.
And, whatever else you do, please DO NOT post from DEMOCRATS UNDERGROUND (or any other such trashy un-American socialist hangout). Free Republic was intended to be a socialist free zone. We've gone to a heck of a lot of trouble to make it that way. Why in the world would you think we would be interested in having their trash posted here?
And QUIT trashing each other. You know who you are. Knock it off! Way too many flamewars and feuds going on. And, while I'm thinking about it, QUIT trashing our conservative candidates. If you want to criticize someone's position on some policy, have at it. But do not trash or smear the man. That would include Browne, Buchanan, Bush, Keyes, et al, or whomever else may be your favorite trashee (examples listed in alphabetical sequence). The idea is to get more conservatives elected, not to trash the ones you don't like. If you want to trash someone, make it a Democrat. Thank you.
And QUIT dredging up old communist propaganda to smear our conservatives. Sheesh! Whatever else you may think about our guys, they did not hijack airliners full of people and crash them into buildings. No, my friends, not even the dreaded CIA. Anyone who would believe (or even suspect) that crap is no FReeper. I've been pulling this crap whenever I see it and several people have been banned for continuing to post it. I do not want it on Free Republic. Any current FR poster who believes this leftist propaganda, please logoff immediately, send me your resignation via email, and I will delete your account.
Thanks,
Jim
This is it!
"The said Constitution should never be construed...to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens, from keeping their own arms." - Samuel Adams
"The great object is that every man be armed. Everyone who is able may have a gun." -Patrick Henry
"A free people ought to be armed." - George Washington
"Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect every one who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but down-right force. Whenever you give up that force, you are inevitably ruined." - Patrick Henry
Where's the argument? The intent of the framers is crystal clear - unless your a Democrat.
It's hard to believe that supposed freedom-loving Americans have allowed it to go THIS far. After gun-control/confiscation it's a straight shot to whatever THEY want for you - or from you. The individual will be rendered irrelevant. Besides, at that point, what the heck are you going to do about anyway?
Sure, some of the gun-grabbers say that if the gov't wanted to crack down, they could whether the people are armed or not. I couldn't disagree more--80 million armed citizens is too much for ANY gov't to put down.
Currently we have public surveillance cameras, oppressive gov't regulation, 50% taxation, and seemingly endless restrictions on freedom, with more set to fall down upon us. How much more will it take to bring "We The People" to full awakening consciousness? What does being an American mean to you nowadays?
You are all cruising along fat, dumb, and happy while your rights are being spoiled. Perhaps it's true that you are so burdened with trying to pay your 50% tax bill to notice liberty in slow-motion collapse. Maybe you are tired of the "price" of freedom. Maybe it's apathy. Maybe it's someone else's problem. I really don't know, but your slumber is frightening.
Wake up before it's too late.

I know it sounded trite to people
No, it didn't. It struck a chord with me, as well as many other people. FReepers have other interests besides politics, and are compassionate folks. I really don't see the problem (but I'm sure a helpful FRee citizen will enlighten me), but JR (whose server space we munch up with every post) doesn't want trivial posts. I can respect that, but it's pretty danged difficult to pass up a thread that I am interested in, or have some knowledge about (and there're too few of those, some would say) that have absolutely nothing to do with politics.
The FreeRepublic is the best forum on the 'net. JimRob, when my revenue gets back in line, I'll send money. 'Til then, I hope Jessie the cat is chomping up lots o' Kibbles N' Bits. Meow. Oops! I meant, "Ciao!"
Uh.....yeah.
Don't misunderstand.
Trent Lott is a spineless non-leader who is more concerned with personal appearance and future elections than the crux of an issue...
Go grab a cup of coffee, come back in a few minutes and click on my screen name...that should answer your inquiry...
The website -- FreeRepublic -- has always been a meeting place where you can criticize various Republicans for legitimate reasons -- in the interests of the Constitution. Trent Lott, John McCain, Peter King, Chris Shayes are a few that I have criticised. I have also criticized George W. Bush on immigration, China policy and his Education budget. When it comes to critcism, I have mainly spent my three years here critcizing members of the Democrat party, Libertarian party and Reform parties. I see the Republican party with no false illusions but only see it has our one last, best chance.
At no time have I felt the promotional policy of this site to be unreasonable in it's approach and confining in it's boundaries. And I see nothing to be concearned about from what Jim has said here on this thread, that this reasonableness will not continue. All this site seems to want to do is promote the Constitution with honest dialogue as seen through the perceptions of Jim Robinson.
Thank-you for this great site Jim!
The president has no power to veto non-discretionary spending. Your data does not in any way shape or form deal with Bush's first -- 2002 -- budget. But that's your judgement -- the record remains!
I guess that's because Ron Paul is really a liberal Democrat, then? Or a RHINO? Or a moderate? Huh? It appears that the lexicon of political ideology has completed its shift. At one time, "conservatives" fought for smaller government and individual Rights in their efforts to conserve and preserve the original intent of the Constitution.
Now that the government grows, whether policicies emanate from the Republican or Democratic Party, the apparent NEW semantic for a conservative seems to be anyone in the Republican Party, or anyone who is to the right of a liberal Democrat. Since Ron Paul is NOT like the other Republicans, he is no longer considered to be a conservative, I guess. Fine! Then he's a Constitutionalist who fights for smaller government and individual Rights over group privileges. Sounds like a conservative to me!
The above is what I have simply said over and over. Only in your last statement -- surrounded by insults, name calling, personal attacks, mis-representations of my opinion and other mis-information about me -- do you finally admit it. Never once have I used name calling insults torward you. Your insult-filled statements to misrepresent what I have said is very revealing -- about you.
As I've said over and over, the full record on what you have said in this thread will not go away anytime soon. Your judgement will be on display for a long time. I will continue to defend the truth. The truth is freedom.
Bye.
