FReeper names explained
My curiousity | Now | Yours truly

Posted on 01/18/2002 5:03:35 PM PST by Come get it

Some FReepers have nicks that are obvious in their origin, others don't. I've seen several that probably have interesting stories behind them.

I thought it would be cool to see where FReepers get their handles from. If you don't like this topic, DON'T POST HERE! No one forces you to read this. I'm sure other people may be interested. If I'm the only one, let me know so I can crawl away in shame.

If you have children you will understand.

We have nine of them. The screen name is a shortening of my wife's license plate #, "9notmes"

"WHO DID THIS????"

Not me, not me, not me, not me, not me, not me, not me, not me, not me...

Mine's pretty obvious, just read my sig.

It was originally a prank- you'd write 'I am sofa king we tod did' on a piece of paper and hand it to someone and get them to say it out loud. I first used it when I went to AICN, and have been using it at every forum I can ever since.

I'm thinking of changing mine to something really catchy. My current name was picked without much real thought - I've had an email acct. for years - familyyoda - that i don't really use anymore because my wife doesn't like it. I simply did a quick morph from yoda to man. Lots of thought - heh.

There is a character in Dragonball Z called Burma. It is well-known that her name is a pun, and that it means 'panties' (her father is named Dr. Briefs and her son is named Trunks).

I don't speak much of the language, but I do know the essentials: food and the dirty stuff. There are some pretty funny parallels in English.

Well, not really. I just thought it sounded cool.
