Superb, and hard to believe this ran in the Philadelphia Inquirer. Bottom line, Buddy had outlived his usefulness and was just another mouth to feed. Accordingly, PIAPS said he had to go.

We are lucky that what happened to the dog didn't end up totally happening to the US.

The Clintons would never own a parrot, since it might repeat what it hears....

Hmmmm. . .Julia Gorin. . .well, thought this might resonate negatively across the board. . .given that 'dog lovers' are across the political spectrum. . .though I would bet more 'cat people' are Liberals. . .

Felt sorry for that dog, the day they took hold of his leash. . .and told America his name. . .

What did they 'do' with Buddy. . .cremation? . . .burial or just 'disposal'?

Want the 'rest of the story'. . .

What did Buddy know, and when did he know it.

At least he wasn't found in Ft. Marcy Park with a gun in the wrong paw, and a bullet in his head ala Vince Foster.

.../sarcasm

What happened to Buddy is precisely what can be expected to happen to a dog when it's meant to be little more than a pawn in its owners' continuing attempts to impersonate human beings.

Yeah!! Like it's master, probably on the prowl for a mate.

Excellent post. Unbelievable that the Libs let this one slip out in one of their rags.

Poor Buddy. The dog didn't deserve the Clintons and the Clintons certainly didn't deserve the affection of this dog.

Then again neither did, or does, this country.

As you say, amazing that this appeared in the Philadelphia Enquirer. This is what it says about the writer:

"Julia Gorin (jegorin@erols.com) is a freelance writer and stand-up comedian in New York."

Evidently she doesn't much like her junior senator.

Personally, I was surprised the girl made it past the '93 inauguration, having already done her part to fulfill the minimum family-unit requirement so her parents could have a political life. Of course, she was a self-sufficient adolescent by then, not quite as vulnerable as a dependent canine. The only visible, physical manifestations so far of the stress she's endured from playing her role are the smoking and the drinking (having held off on the latter all through college, until her parents were out of the White House). But notice how, in contradistinction to the mischievous Bush daughters, this kid was a stellar child; she never made a wrong move. She must have known her life - or rather, her parents' political lives - depended on it.

Contradistinction?  How about contrabu--sh-t!  The media refused to report one element of Chelsea's life unless it was to buttress the Clinton's image.  Isn't it amazing that a leftist can't write an ariticle without bashing.  The topic was the Clinton's dead dog.  This nutjob couldn't write that article without working the Bush's daughters into the story.  What the heck do the Bush's daughters have to do with Buddy?

Let's play word association.  I say a word.  You say the first words that come into your mind.  Buddy.  Poor dog!
Okay, let's let a liberal play.  I say a word.  You say the first words that come into your mind.  Buddy.   Something, anything bad about the Bush twins

Liberals are dispicable.  Even when they about get it right, they can't help themselves.

he darted out in front of a car on a busy two-lane road at the end of the cul-de-sac...I've been on a cul-de-sac or two and never have I been on one with a busy two-lane road at the end of it. This makes no sense. A busy 2 lane road on a cul-de-sac and more to the point at the end of it?

Clintons' First Dog 'Zeke' Suffered Similar Death

Former First Dog Buddy Clinton, who died tragically on Wednesday when he was struck by a car after running into traffic near the Clintons' Chappaqua, N.Y. home, is the second Clinton family pet to be run over after being left unattended.

Twelve years ago the family's first dog, Zeke - a blond cocker spaniel that reportedly had the run of the Arkansas Governor's Mansion while Bill Clinton was the state's chief executive - was also killed by a car while running loose.

"The dog reportedly escaped the mansion grounds regularly and prowled the Quapaw Quarter, where he sired a few puppies. After complaints from neighbors, the Clintons decided to neuter Zeke," reported the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette in 1998.

"Some said Zeke grew fat and listless afterward, but he escaped again in the fall of 1990 and was killed by a car on Broadway in Little Rock."

Two years later then-Clinton spokeswoman Susie Whitacre told Newsday, "After Zeke died, the Clintons were besieged with offers of a new dog and they didn't accept them because Chelsea was just too upset about Zeke.

"Once Socks came along, they let her keep him even though both the governor and Mrs. Clinton are allergic to him," Whitacre added. "Socks is pretty much Chelsea's cat and I don't expect them to get another dog."

After his death, a portrait of Zeke was hung in the Governor's mansion.

During the 1992 presidential campaign, Hillary Clinton explained to an acquaintance that Zeke was killed "after years of near misses."

"We still miss him, especially Chelsea," she added. "We haven't even tried to replace him, but have a great cat named 'Socks!'"

The Clintons gave Socks away last year to longtime aide Betty Currie.

Mr. and Mrs. Clinton were reportedly vacationing in Acapulco when Buddy was hit by a car driven by Halie Ritterman, who said later that she was "brokenhearted" over the accident. The chocolate Labrador retriever was four years old.

Local police blamed Buddy's escape on a workman who had left the front door of the Clintons' Old House Lane house open.

On our local (extremely liberal) news, they reported that Buddy had died when Clinton was away, but never said what happened to the poor little guy. Seems pretty negligient to me to let a dog roam the busy streets.

Was this an actual article written by someone at the paper or and editorial sent in by a reader? If it's the former... well, I'll be....

Good grief, dirt! This article is mean! It's cynical! It's sarcastic! It's searing! It's scathing!

I love it!

Buddy is just another name to add to the list of the climate of death that surrounds anyone connected with that hideous couple.

It reminds me of those movies about Satan in which Satan walks past a bouquet of flowers and they wilt and animals go into an insane frenzy.
