Prayers requested for friend whose parents were murdered

I received the most horrific email at 5am today that I hope I ever get. A close friend in a nearby city wrote the following:

Did you get my message? This is not a joke. Someone broke into my parents house on Wed night around 11 and killed them. My aunt found them at 4pm on Thurs. Call me.

Somebody actually murdered two of the lovliest people God ever put on this earth. The police are saying little except they originally thought it could be a murder-suicide, but evidence, including the fact one of their vehicles was taken, points to homicide.

My friend is herself recovering from major surgery. She lives across the street from her parents house but is homebound and had no idea of the events taking place 150 feet from her front door. Please pray for God to give them strength in this time of unimaginable horror for their family.

Lord God, please wrap your arms of comfort around this friend of "Trust but Verify" as well as all other family members during this terrible time of grief and sorrow. Watch over this family and support them during this horrific ordeal. We pray also that those who have committed this vile crime be swiftly brought to justice and that you would empower the law enforcement officers of that community and give them the wisdom and diligence to apprehend these murderers. Yet, Lord, we recognize that while they may escape earthly justice, they cannot escape your justice. We pray this in the powerful name of Jesus, Amen.

Oh man, this is terrible news, you read and hear about it, but when stuff like this hits close to home, it becomes REAL.. EVIL does exist, and it has struck again. My prayers to your friend and her family, and you as well.
