Yes that is the key question what did Buddy know and what was he prepared to tell us in his unreleased book.

Careful, or Dane will be in here accusing us of being mean to Buddy.

Buddy had outlived his usefulness -- alive. His job was to show the world what a loving and caring family the Clintons were.

For some reason, that was my first thought.

Not to mention that "women own cats, real men own dogs", and Socks the Cat just didn't cut it on the PR circuit...[apologies to all you male cat owners out there, just repeating a popular stereotype....]

'Course, in all fairness, the two labradors I used to own could figure out a way out of any fence we put them in, given enough time. And they were smart, usually it didn't take long....when the female was 6 months old, she figured out how to scale a 5 foot high board fence.

"I am so suspicious of the clintons, that I bet right now they are meeting with PR people to spin this into some wonderful legacy building moment!"

Hillary needs some good PR right now; someone needs to warn her however, NOT to compare her feelings with those who lost loved ones on September 11th. Probably had that speech in her head within a few seconds as she contemplated WHAT to say about this. . .and how to make a connection work for her. . .

You are right about them, we will just have to wait and see how they will 'play' this; but doubt we will wait for long. . .

I didn't catch this host's name, but he's funny ... just said that Buddy's name should be added to the Clinton death list.

He must have read Lucianne this morning.

To this day, I still despise Richard Nixon and always will. But, Bill Clinton is MUCH WORSE than Nixon was. Nixon at least put the welfare of the nation ahead of his own self and resigned. That, for me, separates the two indelibly.

ERRRRRR! irresponsible pet owners make me puke. What do except from people like the Clintons. Poor Buddy, the only true likeable Clinton, IMHO. As far as I'm concerened, Buddy was like everything else for Bill Clinton, a prop. Why didn't anyone watch him?

Maybe there was a bitch in heat, and he was behaving just like Bill? I don't know?

I want to make sick jokes about this but my real feelings won't let me. I must be getting pathological, because I could almost get weepy over this beautiful dog's needless death.

Buddy came into a cold home as a prop and never knew the deep and wonderful love that so fills millions of homes between animals and their masters.

This isn't funny to me, it is simply a reflection of the pathetic, uncaring, creepy, dirty clintons and their ilk. My guess-they are cheering that they no longer have to pretend they like animals. After all, animals require care and can't raise money. Besides, they're messy.

I can state, without any doubt, that I HATE who the clintons are and what they do. I HATE their callous disregard fo those weaker and less influential. And I HATE that some jerk ever gave those cold, nasty, arrogant pigs a beautiful puppy to rear and love in the first place.

I am so bummed.

The clintons are destroyers of all things good, wonderul and wise.

As a life long lover and owner of labs, I couldnt agree with you more. I am so very protective of my own dogs I cant fathom how this could have happened but, with the Clintons, anything that is precious and good will meet an early demise. Bank on it. It's like matter meeting anti-matter.

I remember Bill Clinton shamefully teased the press by saying that he has someone new to sleep with even though his Mrs. was now in Washington being a big time whoopi-di-do senator of mammoth porportions.

As he derived great unseemly pleasure at tiltillating the press with this sexual innuendo, and everyone knows he is a horn dog of the first order as they were getting prepared to be privvy to Clinton's next sex scandal, Clinton blissfully announced that his sleeping partner was none other than his faithful impeachment mascot and companion, Buddy.

You could have just heard the titters of nervous embarrassed laughter coming from the press for their lascivious thoughts while der Slickmeister pulls off another joke on the press using his famous sexual appetite as the backdrop.

Poor Buddy, what an awful way to die. He sure was a beautiful dog. I'm sure Bill Clinton is saddened by his loss and true to form will use this tragic event to become the ex-president in grief to build up his flagging poll numbers.

We have a Bernese Mtn Dog puppy, nine months old now and a mere 81 lbs-LOL-who we love dearly. Our second of this breed, before which we had two wonderful mutts who both lived to 17 years of age. We have also given stray cats and dogs homes until owners can be found, feed birds and other creatures in really bad weather. How can anyone do less?

I ached for Buddy the minute I saw him with the clinton's. And felt that same ache evertime I saw them semi-together. I cannot even express how disgusting I think those two heinous pigs ( and this is a great insult to pigs, unfair, really) are....there just are NOT WORDS.

"I was getting ready to respond to you on that "American Journalism and the Constitution (Tony Snow)" thread when Buddy ran out in the street.......or was pushed."

The fact that we can laugh (even if it is grimly) at the possibilty that the dog might have been pushed, proves that nothing is funny unless it has truth to it.

Clinton has been willing to sacrifice many lives in order to [a] avoid taking responsiblity for anything and/or [b] keep his name in the headlines.

Like Geraldo (who relates to & perfectly understands Clinton) "It's all about him". Many (physical and spiritual) things are expendable when one has that sort of focus.
