LONDON (Reuters) - Osama bin Laden (news - web sites), the world's most wanted man, said on a video broadcast by al-Jazeera satellite television on Wednesday that the September 11 suicide attacks were intended to stop U.S. support for Israel.
``Our terrorism against the United States is worthy of praise to deter the oppressor so that America stop its support for Israel, which is killing our children,'' the bearded, Saudi-born fugitive said.
He added that the tape was being issued to mark about three months since the attacks on New York and Washington and two months after the United States began its bombing of Afghan targets.
The remarks indicated the tape was recorded in early to mid December.
Looking tired but calm, bin Laden was dressed in a clean, camouflage-patterned combat jacket. He sat against a cloth or canvas screen, his Russian-designed submachinegun propped beside him. There was no indication where he was when he recorded the video.
I personally, don't consider myself either of those categories.
Well, then, here's my summary.
The Falklands are islands 300 miles off the coast of Argentina. They have been under British control since 1833. All the inhabitants were, I believe, English speaking in 1982 and loyal to the Queen. But the Argentines call these Islands the Malvinas and some Argentines claim to trace their ancestry back to this land, and it was a nationalistic thorn in their side.
In 1982, the small British military garrison there was overwelmed by an invading Argentine force and surrendered. Margaret Thatcher sent the British military there to reconquer the islands.
Would you not have cared?

You can do better than calling a walk in a bad neighborhood to be motivated by your principles. Forget LEO though, it's your invention and doesn't fit.
Just who are these "Israel-firsters" that have you so upset? Your obsession with them seems to have robbed you of your reason -- to the point that you would believe what bin Laden says about Israel.
Hey dude, E/O -
No - there's a great deal of latitude granted when posting from another site that goes against the grain of the sometimes "mob mentality" that rules here.
I, like you (I'm sure), love to see stuff posted here from antiwar.com or lewrockwell.com, if for no other reason than to see smoke fly out of some cyber-ears.
There's obviously a reason why VDARE and samfrancis.net are banned from here, other than their feelings about the site's owner (salon.com is always here), or because they are not mindless Bushies.
Think about it.
Israelis are shrewd negotiators and know exactly how far America is ready to go with its pressure on Israel. You don't deny there is pressure to negotiate, do you? And that American demands are beyond what Israel is ready to do. Now, are you asking me whether American demands are reasonable, and why would America want to pressure Israel to accept American demands?
Good point. The difference is - the comments there go unchallenged (with a wink and a nod). Here, a person receives a sound thrashing (as has happened to me one more than one occasion - and well-deserved).
It's a topic beyond this already very long thread. But if you are curious, I suggest you read columns by Sam Francis, Pat Buchanan and Joe Sobran.
There's a first.
As to your yet another question, since I do bother to respond on point, the answer is maybe I don't know. I doubt the US will ever push Israel much beyond what Barak offered, and Arafat rejected that flat out. So the bottom line is that even if Israel did exactly what the US wanted it to do, when it wanted it to do it, there still wouldn't be a deal. Get used to it.
