Left-wing intolerance and censorship never ends, does it? Here's yet the latest example of P.C. idiocy:
A Virginia man is trying to censor recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance in schools because, he claims, the words exclude foreigners and "offend" some people.
Edward Myers, a software engineer from Sterling, has filed a "civil rights" petition with the U.S. Justice Department to dump the pledge in favor of patriotic songs and sayings that are neutral to religion and citizenship and thus more "inclusive," the Washington Times reported today.
"The pledge is being sold as a uniform activity, but the problem is it is not inclusive of those who are foreign nationals. Certain religious groups also oppose it because it pledges allegiance to something other than their god," Myers whined.
"While I am not thrilled about the national anthem as an option, it would be better than the pledge because there is a difference between respecting another country and bowing in allegiance to it."
He is urging students to boycott the pledge every Friday.
Loudoun County school board member John A. Andrews told the Times he did not see what the "brouhaha is about."
"What will it be next? That we are not supposed to sing 'God Bless America'? I don't know where something like that ends," he said.
Sounds like there are no schools and there is no God where this critter is from. Could he be from...H*ll????
Too bad! GO HOME!! You and your once-a-month-bath-stench are offensive to me!
It seems to me that it will be a horrible discrimination if naturalized citizens would be singled out this way, so it seems necessary to also strip citizenship from any US citizen by birth if he/she had developed problems with pledge of allegence or its parts ( e.g. 'flag', 'republic','under God', 'single nation indivisible', 'liberty', 'justice' or 'for all').
Do I have to say anything else?
Umm.. yea... I'm gonna have to go ahead and disagree with you there. Yea...

Do I have to say anything else?
What are you talking about?
It is perfectly reasonable to expect loyal citizenship out of people who don't think there is a 'god'. Under the Constitution, the law cannot mandate that someone either except or deny the existance of a god. The Pledge of Allegiance" is lame. I've been an officer in the US military. My oath was to "protect the Constitution and the Nation from all enemies, foriegn and domestic". Allegiance to a 'flag', a piece of cloth, is absurd.
I say, dump the 'pledge' and replace it with something more substantial.
You say "WAS". It sounds like you currently feel no responsibility to protect the Constitution and the Nation from all enemies. What say you now?
You're somewhat peculiar! I was comissioned 30 years ago. I never resigned, nor did I recant the oath. Though I haven't been on active duty for many years, I am still an active citizen. Perhaps you don't catch the difference between 'was' as applied to chronology rather than 'state of being'.
Understand?
