A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 12/10/01

The President and First Lady entertained a group of children from Boston Elementary School in Arlington, VA. The First Couple shared storytelling duties as the President ended the event with a reading of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas'. The plane that crashed into the Pentagon flew directly over the elementary school on September 11th. Also today, the President celebrated Hanukkah by lighting a 100-year-old menorah on loan from the Jewish Museum in New York. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

What is that thing that follows every picture? Some kind of shadow follows the pictures.

GWB is #2 - Rudy is #1. Personally, I'd vote them co-winners, but Rudy works for me. GWB will eclipse him from this point on!

Let it be on the record that I never brought up the subject of a "package." Check the record. I only responded to those who did. LOL!

Rintense, these are fabulous tonight! I want the President and First Lady to come and read me a story! And I, too, love the way this beautiful First Lady looks at her handsome husband, and the way he looks at her.

Question............how would we feel about them if they had followed the wonderful Reagans? Is it just because we have experience the debauched ones that we feel this way? Would we be this excited if it hadn't been for the dark night of the last 8 years?? Just wondering how others feel about this.

Great Pictures, rintense.

Did you all see the article on Drudge about Senator "Disappointed" Daschle? Well, I decided it would be a good opportunity for me to write him and express my views about HIM. So, here is my letter. You should all go to senate.gov and send him a little note. He is obstructing Bush's agenda BIG TIME.

Senator Daschle,

I am very disappointed that you are the Senate Majority leader. I'm disappointed that you are obstructionist and keeping Bush's appointees from seeing their vote come up. I'm disappointed that you are going against this very loved president. I am disappointed that you are holding up the Stimulus Package that Bush wants. I am disappointed that you are holding up Drilling in ANWR. I am disappointed that you are holding up all kinds of other legislation, and when you run for office next, I hope you will be disappointed with the results. If you know what is good for you politically, you will act like you care about the country and pass the Stimulus Package Bush wants, pass Energy, Education, let the votes for judges come to the floor ( Scalia, et al.), and stop acting like such a big disappointed baby.

Elaine Geerdes

Thanks. As a New Yorker, I am proud to call Rudy ours, but the numbers should have been reversed.

You may be on to something. Laura says he works out a lot these days, so it's possible that he has just worked out and gotten a shower in a lot of the shots we see. That's how he works out his tensions.

Bill Clinton to the kids at Christmas: "Ah hope you all will remember me on Christmas and send part of your allowance to the DNC."

Al Gore to the kids: "Did you know that the Nativity scene was written about me and Tipper?"

Hitlary: "Couldn't they have brought in some of the staff's kids for this photo op? Do they really expect me to TOUCH these "little" people?"

Wonderful pictures! Everytime George & Laura Bush are with children, they seem to both have a extra special glow. Love the President wearing those reading glasses......so cute!

He's the first President to light a Menorah in the White House! I wonder if he's also sending a symbolic message to Arafat that America will continue to support that nation.

Thanks be to God that this wonderful couple are in the WH!

Thank you, I watched this live, what a delight W and Laura are. They honestly enjoy the kids being there at the White House. Never got that feeling when the Clintoons were there. Old phony Bug Eyes, and that mouth open wide enough to swallow a tractor. Thanks be to the Lord for GWBush and Laura.

I agree that there is SUCH a great contrast with the Clintons, that anyone would have looked good. I look at these photos and say, thank you God, we survived the last eight years, and now we have this wonderful reward. Mrs. Bush is so outstanding compared with her predecessor. I don't believe, however, that it is just the juxtaposition of honest and criminal, good and bad. I submit that, in the grand scheme of things, President G.W. Bush is going to be ranked as one of the best presidents in our history. As in, one of the top 6. A recent article writer stated that she thought the Sept. 11 incident had made GWB "mature" before our eyes. I think this is wrong. I believe what I told my friend two years ago when the election process was starting - when the people of the US get to know him, and how good, kind and honorable he is - then they will love him as Texans do. He hasn't changed; now the country is seeing him as he is. The moment it all changed was when he was speaking about the terrorist attack, and his eyes started to well up with tears. Those weren't phony, look-at-me-I-feel-your-pain-Slippery-Bill tears. Those were the tears of a righteous leader, a good man, a real man who was going to put a stop to it. Anyway, thanks for these wonderful pictures - I check it just about every day, but don't usually write.

Great letter, okstatemom. As pointed out in a recent column in the Wall Street Journal, Senator Daschle is suffering under the illusion that he's the president of our country. How disappointed he'll be when he finds out he's not!

It must be very disappointing to Daschle when he sees how popular our real president is.

Thought you would really appreciate this post on another thread:

Hopefully, the voters of South Dakota will dis-appoint Daschle to the Senate soon.
