The President and First Lady entertained a group of children from Boston Elementary School in Arlington, VA. The First Couple shared storytelling duties as the President ended the event with a reading of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas'. The plane that crashed into the Pentagon flew directly over the elementary school on September 11th. Also today, the President celebrated Hanukkah by lighting a 100-year-old menorah on loan from the Jewish Museum in New York. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

everytime I hear the word "package" I cannot help but take myself back to the day weeks before the election when Mom and I were listening to Rush while driving around in Whitemarsh.
And then hearing the People from The View salivate. It all comes back, and makes me miss Middle School. (I'm a freshman in High school this year.)

Oh these pics are GREAT! I love the look Laura is giving him in pic #11 in Post #3. It's like she's saying "You are just LOVING this, aren't you?" And I always wondered why sometimes he had that red mark across his nose. DOH! It is the mark his reading glasses make! I love the pics where he's looking over his glasses at the kids. They both look like they are having so much fun!

My youngest are 11 and 13 and we STILL read "Twas the Night before Christmas" every year! I also love "The Polar Express", but I get fahklempt reading it and my son laughs at his old emotional Mama! How Wude!

If you haven't seen Biography on A&E, make sure to watch it. Tape it, but first of all, grab your tissues.

It's outstanding.

That just reminded me of Tim Russert asking Hitlery if the Monica thing prevented Clinton from paying attention to terrorists. Hey! What about all his traipsing around the country and the world trying to dig up more money for himself and the Democrats. I think the Monica thing was the least of things that caused Clinton not to pay attention to his job. Once he hit America up for a second term he flat didn't seem to give a damn about anything more than himself, Hitlery's future and the Democrats.

The "W" Bushes, they are the "anti-Clintons". Look at the way she looks at him! Just wonderful!

W rocks...But *I* am starting to look at our (real) first lady the same way. She is at peace, and strong, and radiates goodness.

Another few years I may start screaming like an old Beatles fan.

Curmudgeon though I may be, she makes me melt.

Seeing those good people with the menorah made me think of another quote, and it seems to be appropriate for the White House as well:

Nes Gadol Haya Shom.

everytime I hear the word "package"...

As a rather behind the times forty-seven year old woman, this is a term that I had never heard before algore supposedly had his "package" airbrushed to enhance it in a picture, so as to appeal to a certain segment of the population. This term will always remind me of the last administration. Oh how relieved I am that we have a president named GWB!

"Psalm 27:8, 13: Thy Face, Lord, Do I Seek. I believe that I Shall see the Goodness of the Lord in the Land of the Living!"

THIS is my all-time FAVORITE Bible verse. How wonderful!

I'm not supposeded to be posting now! LOL. She's okay with the politics angle Most of the time.
I have a special squeal whenever George, Laura, Katherine, Cheney or Jeb are coming on TV. It drives her up the wall. She says "I like them but..."
She threatens to take me to Shepard Pratt. Okay she'd never do that but....
My first political memory is when I was in first grade and my Mom woke me up the morning after the election to tell me Clinton had won.
I cried and beat my fists together.
it wasn't so hard with Dole.

The difference between this administration and the last one is the fact that it is US (you, me and the others here) talking about "packaging".....unlike the scum of the past administration who would bring the subject up themselves. !!

Did GWB make #1, asks she with fingers crossed? Do you know if they will re-air it later?. BTW our President always looks as if he's just gotten out of a shower.

I'm not supposeded to be posting now! LOL

A lot of us have to sneak around our families! With you it's your mom and with me it's my daughter! LOL!! She's your age, and doesn't share my passion (or yours) for politics!

Good for you to know right from wrong at such a young age! You were a very perceptive little kid to get mad when Clinton won! He almost destroyed this country, but God has given us President Bush to bring us back out of the sewer, so that your future is bright!

I just love the way that Laura Bush is looking at her husband in the last picture in #3! Does she adore her husband or what?

Picture #1 is probably my favorite picture of GWB ever! Well maybe not, but it is definitely right up there!

That's exactly what I was thinking when I saw those. I'm thinking, Laura Bush is remembering her husband reading stories like that to his kids when they were little. And he looks to cute with those reading glasses down his nose. I love our President and his wife. God bless them both, our country, and the military. Thanks, again, rintense!!
