The President and First Lady entertained a group of children from Boston Elementary School in Arlington, VA. The First Couple shared storytelling duties as the President ended the event with a reading of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas'. The plane that crashed into the Pentagon flew directly over the elementary school on September 11th. Also today, the President celebrated Hanukkah by lighting a 100-year-old menorah on loan from the Jewish Museum in New York. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Oh I love the reading picture! Classic George! Did you slip up and mean Curious George? LOL
To: rintense
Can y'all imagine the relief and joy the President gets from reading to children.....like escaping our world for awhile - must be at least moments of great relaxation and fun, amid the seriousness of our present situation(s).
Great pics.. thanks!

For those of you who would like to get a sense of what Inauguration Day was like around FR, I have a thread bookmarked that you will love.
I know that many of you are familiar with the ATRW (America the Right Way) thread. Up until 1/20/01, that thread was called USA v. x42 (well, actually that's not precise but I really hate typing the name) and ran for about 3 years.
I have the thread for Inauguration Day bookmarked. Now, I'll warn you, I have about a million bookmarks but just scoot on down to the U's and you'll find the one for Day 0.
Another warning .... there were graphics, cartoons, and such that were linked from newspaper websites. When you go back to the thread, what shows up is current pics and graphics ..... not the ones from that day. So don't freak out and think that newspapers were predicting the death of OBL or anything ..... LOL! I hate that it works that way ..... the stuff that was posted was really great.
For any of you who are new and don't know how to find someone else's bookmarks ..... right click on my name at the end of this post and choose Open in New Window. My profile page will appear with my bookmarked threads on the left .... scroll w-a-y down towards the end of the list to find USA v x42 Day 0.
Btw, I also have a number of threads bookmarked since 9/11. I wised up and started preceding the titles of the threads with WTC so they would all be together. There are some excellent pictorials there.

"Is it just because we have experience the debauched ones that we feel this way? Would we be this excited if it hadn't been for the dark night of the last 8 years?? Just wondering how others feel about this."
ABSOLUTELY. Goodness doesn't need the likes of the Klintoons to make it recognizable. It's a heart thing. Something the Geo. W. Bush's have in spades. Our President and First Lady are God's people. They don't have to fake anything. It comes as natural as breathing to them. That dark night was of Satan. Satan lost control of George and Laura Bush years ago. Praise God for them.

"Look at the way she looks at him! Just wonderful!"
It was the Christmas Tree lighting ceremonies last week. I forget who sang The Battle Hymn of the Republic. The camera caught Laura Bush brushing a tear from her eye. The President looked over at her just as she wiped that tear and gave her the most loving wonderful compassionate little smile I have ever seen. I only wish everyone could have someone to love them as they love each other. It's practically indescribable. It's beyond words I guess. My heart swells. It comes from within. Where the Holy Spirit dwells.

Nah, I try not to say that.. even if he is curious.... My liberal friends call him a chimp all the time and it really grates my nerves, and then sends me into a full fledged lecture.

Actually, It was probably Clinton's presence that made me interested in politics. I remember watching the state of the unions and looking at Newt- he looked pretty ticked. And i'd stay and watch the rebuttal.
This was when Trent did them before he was one of those leaders.
I would say "OHH MOM- LOOK! Trent made a great point." She be falling asleep and would be like "it's no use Abbey forget it, go to bed."
Yah well redlipstick wants to adopt me too so you have competition.. :-)

I didn't understand the term "package" with that meaning till I was well past high school. And I was married while in college.

I am NOT disappointed with your communique to Tommy bin Daschle reprinted at #46!
To: okstatemom
Great letter. I'm also disappointed the entire Congress voted themselves a raise when they felt that the tax cut to us was too big. What a bunch of scumbags.

Chelsea's childhood memories would have to include her very own and very special version of Duck, the Flying Lamp, rather than Hop on Pop.

at least he doesn't have to have his enhanced and faked by a magazine. Or sit with one long, thin stool leg extending from Groin Ground Zero to the floor, to find his way onto a mag cover. Didn't y'all just find that too not sexy, ladies?
