SEATTLE - A plane at Sea-Tac Airport has been sealed off after U.S. Customs officials in New York received an anonymous tip that the inbound 747 from Taipei, Taiwan had someone on board carrying smallpox.
It has not been determined if it is a valid threat yet, but officials are not taking any chances.
Eva Air Flight 32, bound for Newark, N.J. but in Seattle on a scheduled stop-over, has been quarantined as a precaution. No one is being allowed on or off the plane.
The threat was not specific if the person was infected, or carrying a vial of smallpox.

Why don't they at least let them into a contained field rather then an enclosed plane?
This is the one thread I hoped I would never see on FR....
Smallpox is some scary sh!t..
An EVA Airlines Boeing 747 has been detained at Sea-Tac Airport due to a report of a possible contaminant on board.
The plane was en route from Taiwan to Newark, with a scheduled stop in Seattle. The plane landed at 1:11 p.m. It was supposed to leave Sea-Tac for New York at 1:30 p.m.
An anonymous tip to U.S. Customs officials at JFK Airport in New York led authorities to suspect there was someone or something on board that might carry a contaminant.
The plane is at a gate but the jetway is not connected to the plane's door, pictures from Chopper 7 show.
There are 157 passengers and 14 crew members on board, an FAA spokeswoman tells KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.
A Sea-Tac spokesman says other airport operations are normal.
Small pox shows up in the saliva before it appears as pox. This is how people who are recently vaccinated can pass it on to unvaccinated relatives. You get close to spouses and other relatives, then breath each other's breath.
This is also why recirculated air on airplanes is such a danger for spreading the pox.
