5,000 Freepers who care are needed now!
Donate to Free Republic ^ | 30 November 2001 | Grampa Dave

Posted on 11/30/2001 7:48:58 AM PST by Grampa Dave

We need the stewardship of 5,000 Free Republic members to insure the continuation of the Free Republic Life Form!

Jim Robinson said in yesterday's post: "My projections are that our regular monthly expenses for next year will be running in the neighborhood of $22,000 per month, or approximately $264,000 total for the year. This means we will need to raise approximately $66,000 per quarter."

If 5,000 Free Republic members who believe in paying their own way and that no free lunch ever exists, pledge $5/month. Jim's goals and needs will be quickly surpassed!

5,000 good stewards of Free Republic pledging $5/month will total $75,000 per quarter. That would allow Jim/John a little breathing room!

Many of us donate more per month than that. So please don't reduce your donation. We just need 5,000 regular pledgers to make things easier for Jim.

Are there 5,000 good Stewards out there who can afford $5/month to keep alive the Free Republic Life Form?

One way to afford this is to cancel your subscription to your left wing fish wrap or bird cage liner. Donate half of that monthly cost to your favorite charity and the rest to Free Republic. If you do this, you remove your money from the enemies of America and invest it with the friends of America, Free Republic! That would be a double winner for America!

Become one of the 5,000 Freepers who believe that there is no Free Republic lunch and that only parasites want something for free! Sign up for $5/month on a monthly auto payment plan!

I am now donating one to the Second Ammendment Foundation to raise funds for the Emmerson appeal. That leaves one for me and another to be donated to another organization. Maybe I will give it away at our next local freeper meet.

Looks like this thread was a great success thanks to Grampa Dave's initiative and great idea. If I understand the numbers that Badjoe just posted correctly, this thread has generated over $30,000 in annual credit/debit card donations!

I understand that many Freepers like to donate periodically but I believe an automated monthly contribution is the way to go. Sign up for $5, $10, $20 a month, whatever you can afford, and you don't even have to think about it anymore. Meanwhile, Free Republic gets a source of steady revenue that it can depend upon to meet its operating expenses. Now there may be Freepers out there that can only afford a small monthly donation and thus feel "embarrassed" about setting up a payment of just $5 or so.

But don't! As this thread so succintly points out, if 5,000 of us gave $5 a month, why that would provide Jim Robinson with the necessary revenues to meet operationg expenses. And all the rest would be gravy, used to expand the organization and for special projects. Like hiring a skywriter to write "Hillary is a carpetbagging shrew" over the skies of New York City. Well, maybe others can come up with something better, but you get the idea!

Not quite. The total of all donations since JimRobs Thread Wednesday night is just under $10,000.00

We have about $700.00 in brand new monthlies, which will account for $2,100 of that total.

I'm sorry, but Jimrob said it's a no go. Can't do it. I've had to move the certificates to another destination.

I am giving one to the Second Ammendment Foundation to raise funds for the Emmerson Appeal.

I apologize to everyone for the confusion that is going to take place. I think when the lawsuits are over Jimrob may be more willing to do things like this.

An absolutely fabulous idea, Grampa =^)

I'd be more than happy to pledge $15/mo.

My monthly contribution may be GREATER than $15 from time to time, depending on my financial circumstances.

God bless and long live Free Republic!

I've got my fingers crossed that Front Sight is offering their 1-day subgun course on the first weekend in February since I'm going to be in Vegas anyway.

Then I plan to start saving to at least attend the 2-day handgun course (the "beginner" one), if not the 4-day. I'm not really a "beginner", but I figure it's best to start there and work up. Would love to have the funds to take one course every six months or so, but that's not reality right now. Got four kids and a stay-home mommy to take care of! ;o)
