I don't get your attitude. It's not like we're talking about George Harrison's death on a war thread -- the headline clearly says "GEORGE HARRISON DIES IN LOS ANGELES". If you don't care about Harrison, and don't like the Beatles, why in the world did you 1) Open this thread, and 2) Feel compelled to tell us all that you don't care about it!

If you had bothered to read the thread, I didn't start it. Someone "pinged" me to this thread, and I simply responded I wasn't a beatles fan, and frankly don't care about George Harrison.

Outside of your blatant reading comprehension problem, what's it to you? You the thread police or something?

You all offended because someone doesn't give a rats ass about one of the beatles dying? You all pissed off because someone doesn't share YOUR taste in music? TOUGH.

Bugger off.

I can remember telling my Mother that the Beatles had made me feel good again after the President's death. Nice to know that although we are strangers, we share the same memories isn't it?

It was a sweeping time in our lives. Funny thing is, even my Mother became a Beatles fan. When they came back to the US in '64 she bought my ticket to the concert in San Francisco for my birthday. Never forget it.

I get pinged on stuff all the time. If the headline indicates it's something I'd be interested in, I read it. If it's not, I move on. I don't go into threads on stuff I have no interest in, and berate the people in the threads for being interested in that topic!

Thank you for your classy response.

Not caring about the Beatles is one thing. That's fine with me. But such blatant disrespect for this man who just died yesterday is terrible. You know, I'm a liberal too, but that doesn't mean that we have to disagree with everything said here. You should be ashamed of yourself.

I am sorry for unconservative's attitude on behalf of liberals everywhere. My guess is that he's just some bored kid with nothing else to do. I would like to join with most of the people in this forum in expressing my extreme sorrow at the passing of such a talented and brilliant man. I have respected George both as a musician and as a great guy. The overwhelming feeling of peace and comfort I get from listening to "Something" will forever keep him in my memory. He was a positive force in my and so many other people's lives. Thank you George, you shall be missed.

I think that poster's name is "usconservative", not "unconservative," but thanks for your note anyway!

Just to recap, here's what I said...

...Anyway, all us Beatles fans are pretty sad over this. Hope you'll forgive a little defending of the Beatles; didn't mean to be out of line. You've certainly got a right to your own opinions about what good music is. Peace...

Here was your reply...

geez... its sad Harrison died. He was great. He was a genius. He was a hero worker. All will mourn his passing. better?

Here's a suggestion for something you might like: there's a radio show called the "Howard Stern Show", whose host and his helpers have no respect at all for human decency. In fact, they go often out of their way to make bad things worse, and think it's funny.

They especially think it's funny to attack or bring down an easy target - someone who hates vulgarity, for example, or just someone goes out of their way to treat others with respect.

lol Valin--I can't help it :) I won't say that muically that they were geniuses (ABBA) but lots of their songs are just happy go lucky type songs that are fun to listen to.

Blech. Show me where the "disrespect" was. Like I should care about everyone that I don't personally know's death?

Please, you bleeding hearts sicken me.

You got exactly what you deserved for your self-important arrogant post. Deal with it.

I'll BET that BJ Clinton is at the funeral!

If so, they should cue "Taxman" for his entrance.

I told her about John's Jesus remark. She said, "Well, it was true. Shouldn't have been, but it was.

I heard a preacher say the same thing in a sermon very shortly after Lennon made his remarks.

I was only 8 at the time. I know that doesn't have a lot to do with the theological issue at hand. I just don't want to date myself more than I have to.
