TBN Televangelists Buy $5,000,000 Home
Deception in the Church ^ | Nov.4,2001, page K15 | LOS ANGELES TIMES,

DITC Commentary: Ever wonder where all those "seed faith" dontations are going? Whose getting rich again? Remind me. It thought it was those people who sent in their seed faith donations who were going to get a "100 fold increase" and that they would be the ones buying luxury homes. What a shock to find out it doesn't work out that way! Duh!!!!

Televangelists JAN and PAUL CROUCH of the Costa Mesa-based Trinity Broadcasting Network have purchased a Newport Beach house for close to $5 million, Orange County Realtors say.

Is Jan Crouch the lady with the pinkish wig?

Yes, she wears it to draw attention away from her garish makeup.

This is Benny Hinn and he needs to be stopped. As a jewish believer in the messiah I find this man to be a repugnant, thieving pagan. He constantly whores christianity for his own finacial profit but,

...more so, he preaches lies such as the claim that Adam could fly and that the trinity concept as explained in the Bible isn't quite right and that there are actually nine parts to the godhead. He once had the gall to claim that on one particular night Yeshua, Jesus the Christ himself would personally join him on stage.

Talk about your barf alerts.

"I wonder how Jesus would feel about a minister of the gospel pleading for money and then buying thousand-dollar suits and million dollar mansions?"

There's a film out there which has casts Max Von Sydo {sp?) as an aging, very cranky & unhappy artist whose shacking-up with a woman much younger than he.
While she's out *cheating* on him, he sits alone & watches TV late into the evening.
When she returns, he flies into a raging rant which goes something like this...

"IF Jesus ever DOES return to Earth & sees what's being done in His name He'll start throwing up & never be able to stop!!"

Now, take a guess precisely what this character had been watching all night as he awaited the return of this mate of his?

I am as much a capitalist as anyone...but has anyone observed that Jesus never owned a house a boat or a donkey....and that he once observed " ... The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head."Matthew 8:20

Somehow I doubt that he would have a room at that inn eithor......

Please give money to your local churches...raise your overworked Pastors salary...buy new Sunday School books for the kids....send it to your denomination missions....PLEASE do not send it to the new age Bakers...

how soon we forget..

Ditto on Benny Hinn....What a con. This guy enjoys the good life better than the other free loader, Clinton. I hope they get to share the same jail cell.

Would Jesus wear a Rolex on a television show?

Ah, the late great Chester Atkins. He wrote that song around the time the Bakers were getting into trouble.

Hasn't it occurred to anyone that this could be one of the reasons Christians, and especially vocal, fundamentalist Christians, get such a bad rap? You don't see rabbis, mullahs, or even priests acting like that do you? A lot of people see this sort of thing, and stereotype other fundamentalists or those that are vocal about their beliefs. This sometimes highly vocal behavior is not seen that much in the more eastern religions. Before I get blasted by a bunch of freepers telling me they aren't like this, please note that I am not accusing anyone of this, it's just an observation.

Anyone who "gives" to the church as a "seed money" investment deserves to be taken in by frauds. They are just as fraudulent themselves.

Look on the bright side... $5 mil doesn't buy much in Newport Beach.

i am a pentecostal christian. i have had problems with this also. i believe in donating, and ibelieve in reaping and sowing. but when televangelists buy million dollar homes, it is hard to explain this. but please don't condemn all christians and pray for those that do give with right motivations.

"No ... Christianity is cool."

Oh, come on Joemomma, you KNOW that I was being sarcastic.
One does not go from being "Born-Again" to a Pagan because of some side-show swindler,
in fact, I don't believe one can go from being truley "Born-Again" in the spirit to not at all.
Our names don't get erased out of The Book of Life because we sinned (thank God, for I am the worst).

Is this the woman with the huge pinkish hair and 10 lbs of makeup? She's really hideous. Makes Tammy Faye look modest.

I could never stomach TBN with its over-the-top gold-gilded sets

A local prominent clergyman says about their sets "This is what happens when heterosexuals try to decorate".

Not seen in the Eastern religions? What about Rev. Moon and that yogi guy from India. They've done pretty well for themselves.
