Unfortunately, Bruce Babbit was Clintoon's Secretary of the Interior. As such, he had nothing to do with the Sierra Nevada Framework Plan. The Forest Service is an agency of the Dept. of Agriculture. However, there are number of things you might ask him about. The BLM has been banning grazing on a number of areas to protect the desert Tortoise. You might ask him about the scientific information used for that decision. You might ask him about the Indian Trust Funds - he was fined by Judge Lambirth, I think in 1998, for contempt of court in not turning over information requested by the court. It seems there have been serious questions regarding the management of those trust funds. (Bureau of Indian Affairs is an agency of the dept. of Interior)

I'm well aware of of that. The same thing is happening with the willow flycatcher that depends upon the cows they are banning.
I also intend to ask him how his gravel pit is doing and whether he has addressed its regulatory violations. Brucie was also instrumental in the 'let it burn' and grazing suppression policies that brought weed invasions to much of the West. Then there was that little boundary-realignment job on Chocolate Mountain and those "monumental" real estate deals that both magically benefitted Mr. Blum.

Didn't mean to insult your intelligence. Then you know that the Fish and Wildlife Service is an agency of the interior dept. Now, those are some scary people...just ask the farmers in the Klamath Basin.

Here's a little tidbit from the framework Standards and Guidelines: anywhere where there might be a red-legged frog (doesn't actually have to be one there, mind you), there must be a buffer zone of 500 feet if there is going to be any herbicide use. Now, take a look at some of the yellow star thistle infestations. These things don't do red-legged frog habitat any good. But, the forests are prohibited from using it in red legged frog habitat. Also, there is no evidence that things like glyphosate do any harm to amphibians. In fact, glyphosate in the Rodeo formulation is labeled for use in riparian areas, and extensive toxcity studies have been done. evidence? We don't need no steekin' evidence. I'll have to hunt around and post the link for the framework if anyone is interested. That website contains a lot of the documents, like the decision, and the standards and guidelines the forests will have to follow.

Why is it so obvious that I live off the grid (besides my saying so)? Just curious. I want to laugh like that too. Maybe I'm being dense, but tell me!

I'll take a stab at it...Our cabin on the Klamath is off the grid (no connection).
In Santa Cruz we live off (addicted to) the grid.

"4:00 PM TODAY."Hay you bad dude... Mrs. Wasp just tole me yew got inta the face of the Indian robbin former secretary of interror, pretty good! I sure love the sound of that!!!
That STUPID Sierra Nevada Framework crap is nuthin but a SIERRA NEVADA FRAME-UP!!! I know the President is involved in a war on terrorism, but damn... The Red Zone elected him to help us out here on this very kind of crapolla!
You know what... If the rest of the States/Republics are NOT on a equal footing with the original 13, then we westerners really are an OCCUPIED TERRITORY with no 10th Amendment Constitutional Rights, whatsoever! Hell, we don't even have to secede!!!
