I published this a while back, but it was deleted.
So....
What is the fastest you have ever drive? I had my little Honda over 100 mph near the PA-WV border.
I do not condone speeding, and I am sure FR does nor either.

And so quite too. Quite= quiet? Drove a Mercedes gullwing "many" years ago. You couldn't hear any noise outside, like it was soundproof - and soooooo smooth. It is the FINEST car I've driven, by far.

Heyyy, that's hardly fair - going metric and all. I remember the first time I drove on the QEW - speed limit 110, the sign said. "Hang on, baby," I said. "These Canadians finally got something right!"
'Course, the OPP guy I passed a few miles later was less than amused. ;)

It is a shame that Mazda does not make the RX-7 anymore. Are there any companies that put out a car with a rotary engine anymore?

I fixed up an old '69 Camaro with a bored out 327. I had it over 125 on a crappy old back road in Georgia. That car was soooooooo sweet.
I was kinda pissed though because I pulled my oil pan afterwards and found big metal shavings coming from somewhere. The engine wasn't quite the same after that until I rebuilt it AGAIN.

145 MPH in a Lotus MK XI - on the Riverside Raceway, CA. However, was driving a Jaguar on Interstate 10, 1974 timeframe and was pulled over by a helicopter going over 100 MPH. Had two kids, 6 & 9 in car with me. The egged me on so they could see the needle hit 100.
This is another thing that I tell my friends when I talk about you :)
What is the fastest you have ever driven?
I take the fifth!

Oh sure! Show off...lol!
Before I was a homeschool mama I drove my Honda Accord at 95mph on Hwy 395 while The Phantom of the Opera shrilled on the tape player...past a long line of cars...a CHP being at the front...oh for joy. This was not 45 minutes after getting a ticket driving into Bishop. arghghg! Great thing though...I didn't get a second ticket. And I drove the speed limit the rest of the way to my final destination...I didn't care WHO was behind me! Ha!

My fine was $1200. --- I was just about to cross into Nevada from CA, and I made the mistake of stopping to purchase CA lottery tickets for co-workers! My fine was paid by co-workers: we pooled our tokes from that night and had one heck of a great run at the craps table, with money to spare for an entire day's drunk!

149.02 mph at the Richard Petty Expeience of a Lifetime.
I was in a class of 12 (10 men, 2 women...3 of the men were Pro off road racers). I was the Valedictorian of my class! Heheheh...even beat my husband! ;o)

210 kph = ~130 mph
To: Hacksaw
130 in a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T on the Queen Ka`ahumanu Highway in Kona, Hawaii with my mom in the car.
To: Gracey
100km/h = 62mph. Thus, 210km/h = 130mph.
Ontario roads are usually quite nice and well maintained. As long as they don't have snow on them :-)

Its about 150-155 mph.And very quiet :-)Nice thing is is gets up there so fast and stays at that speed, quite unlike any other V-12 I've driven.Others are faster off a standing start, but after 150 yds, nothing else seems to accelerate with such ease...except for the BMW M5....that's a horse.
Drive over in France and Switzerland, and they let you air it out, and most are doing, even in the slow lanes, 130 km/hr.Much better than the QEW.

When I was 16 yrs old, a date borrowed his brother's Jag to impress me. He got up to 130 mph on a newly opened freeway before I freaked and made him slow down. (I didn't know cars could go that fast!) I thought he was a nut with a death-wish and refused to go out with him again. *chuckle*

135 or 140 in a Saab 900 Turbo with a few extra goodies. That's about 5,500 to 5,700 RPM in 5th gear on a flat desert road in cool weather (the intercooler works better when it's cool). My speedometer was accurate within 3% to 100 MPH (I had it checked up to that speed so it probably remained consistant for the full range. The spedo said 140 so the real top speed is just a guess but a pretty good one.
It wasn't as fast as my neighbors Saab 900 but then again I didn't have all the speed parts he did.

You won't believe this but it was under 80.
Yeah, I'm the guy that only goes 5 mph over the speed limit and that everybody passes.
