Libertarians ought to be considered a national security threat by any member of the voting public. I have voted for Libertarians in the past (thankfully, now, never for President)--But never again! 15 posted on 11/21/01 6:36 PM Pacific by calmseas

Actually, Harry Browne is a smart, articulate man. And there is nothing wrong with Libertarianism. The problem is the God Complex most Liber's have. You have two choices: agree, or go sit in the corner with a dunce cap on.
If only life were that simple. And if only the Libers wouls learn some marketing, for Pete's sake.

Turn off Fox, that's what I did. I'm watching the History channel......Search for Atlantis.....

It's only one guy, this is like saying the Republican party sucks because of John McCain...or something. It doesn't make any sense.

What's misleading about it? Not all libertarians think that the ideology should be applied so that it is the functional equivalent of a suicide pact. No, I am not libertarian. I'm a neocon. I am quite comfortable with the application of force when needed.

THIS IS AN OURTAGE, HARRY BROWNE AND HIS LIBERTARIAN BUDDIES ARE ALL A BUNCH OF UN-AMERICAN PIGS.I'll take some heavy flak for this, but I don't think this is so.
I didn't hear Harry's speech.
I have had the pleasure to talk to some who have identified themselves with the Libertarian Party (some living, some dead), however, and I have to say that many of them have goals that don't necessarily collide with ours.

Libertarians ought to be considered a national security threat by any member of the voting publicWell, come and get me, big mouth.
You are such a staunch defender of freedom that you are willing to make a political party illegal. What a freaking hypocrite you are. You got what it takes to arrest me for my political beliefs? That's what you want to do, right? Try it.

350k out of 50 million...with 340k right here on FR. Aren't we lucky?
To: Cuban123
While I'll never subscribe to the humanistic view of things that many may subscribe to, I think it's also a bad decision to "shoot" at some who have similar goals.
To: IronJack
If Harry is smart, it only goes to show that the correlation between smartness and wisdom can be quite low.

Even I agree with your on Libertarians on this forum and I have been in disagreements with a lot of them on other issues! A large portion of them have been very supportive.
Question: Wasn't Harry Browne the candidate that kept appearing on Larry Klayman's radio show during the campaign? I know it was one of the small party candidates and I keep thinking it was Browne! If it was, he was a jerk during the campaign also!
To: _Jim
Of course they do not. Their presidential nominee, the most well known Libertarian in the nation has zero, zip, nada to do with libertarianism.
To: DCBryan1
I watched Harry Browne & then Nadine Strosser (?sp) afterwards. There were good arguments made, however, all they seemed concerned with were foreign nationals! I was looking for a healthy debate on how these new laws will affect the civil liberties of honest citizens.

You have two choices: agree, or go sit in the corner with a dunce cap on.This is the thing I thing most people resent........(raising my hand)

I'm watching the History channel......Had to turn it off. They we doing the *Crinton years in the White House. I didn't have enough Crown Royal on hand to survive that...
To: IronJack
IronJack,
They are really wacky on a few issues; I've known that for quite a while. But this guy Browne has really lost it. If the party sticks by him as their leader, they've completely lost it, too. Nevertheless, this "interview"--or whatever you want to call it--is enough to convince this quasi fence-sitter that he will never, ever vote for any Liberatian again. Did I say never?

Browne was pathetic! And I mean pathetic! If I ever had the slightest inkling of voting Libertian he sure ended it. While I know he only got 350k votes I do wonder how he got that many.

I saw the Harry Brown thing and I agree, it's outrageous. Thank God we have the President we do, to think this is a man who was in any national standing is just too much. I am taking your lead and watching the History channel. I am getting tired of Hannity and Colmes lately, although I really like Sean. Alan's hairpiece looks bad. On to Atlantis!
