Has anyone noticed that the Liberal influence has spread here into Free Republic. I notice that less and less Conservatives seem to post here, and more and more Libertarians seem to be.
I get a letter from someone named NYpeanut who is mad because I posted a discussion based on the Gender Gap in voting.
I didn't make it up, there is really a huge Gender gap with Female Voters tending toward the more liberal candidate. The discussion went well without name calling, but this person seems to have taken issue to the fact that I pointed out women seem to vote more liberally than men.
All those who are newbies here are considered disruptors, and those who hold a more right-winged view than the average libertarian seem to be kicked out.
Why is this? Is this a Libertarian site now?
I have noticed more and more posters standing up for Abortion, Homosexuality, the Porn Industry and Drugs since I first came to this site back before the 2000 Election.
Are Christian Conservatives(Who make up a large part of the Republican core vote) not allowed here anymore?
Just because one holds to a higher power, and wishes to shape society in accordance with the laws of Almighty God, does not make one a Taliban Milita member.
A "hearsay" that was all of one sentence long, and referred to the name only. I didn't read anything that could be remotely construed as a personal attack from the original poster, and I read the entire initial post.
Sheesh ...
The newbies are more trouble than they're worth here on FR. Two people in a pissing contest over what? A bunch of shat in my opinion.
This is what FR has become? This is it? And I had such high hopes...
#1. Mandatory Death penalty for Drug Traffickers
#2. Close the Border with Mexico, Step up the Border Patrol with Military forces with orders to shoot those who attempt to cross illegally.
#3. Authorize Coast Guard to Fire First and Ask questions Later when encountering Boats that are running drugs.
#4. Use AWACS Planes, Satellites, and Spy Planes to patrol OUR Borders and the Seaways around our Southern Border.
#5. Mandatory Stiff Jail terms for those who use drug, make even a small amount of drug possession a Felony.
If Step 1-5 Fail:
Work on a Plant Specific disease that kills only the plants used to make drugs.
Invade the South American Countries that produce drugs on a large scale and destroy the fields, dealers, and runners.
Another straw-man is that if you favor Anti-drug legislation then you must be against the 4th, 5th and 10th amendments. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Right on target. These broads get indignant and start quoting The Fountainhead when you try to leave a tip - after they've enjoyed a free dinner.
Atheists tend to ATTEMPT to re-write history and claim that all of our Founding Fathers were either Deists or Atheists, even though the Evidence does not support this theory.
A better way would be to end welfare, let everyone work for a living, let employers fire employees who show up too stoned to work, let them lose their jobs, their homes, if they rob or steal lock them up for that.
The Founding Fathers murdered innocent women and children? I think not. Deal with it.
You need to cut off the supply at it's source, taking down every street level dealer isn't going to work because they can find more.
There are countries that have very low rates of Drug use because they adopted STIFF Penalties for possession. (IE: Death Penalty.)
America has enough technology to protect our borders, Many times I wonder if we really want to our not.
If someone with guts would take the helm and actually prosecute the war on drugs like a real war, it would be over in a matter of months.
I recently got into an attempted discussion with someone about the constitution, and they couldn't (or wouldn't) understand the concept of only "fundamental rights" being protected, didn't understand what the 14th Amendment did, didn't understand the historical context of the constitution, etc. Everything was seen through the prism of today's world, which is exactly the opposite of what is supposed to be done.
I know there are libertarians here who are not like this, but I've seen too many who fit the sterotype of arrogant, condescending crank who lives in their parents' basement and smoke dope all day long read Ayn Rand instead of getting a job.
Flame away.
Anyone who refers to a fellow freeper that way; is obessed with d*cks; and gets crabby when you point out the obvious gender gap. . well, I wouldn't take a nap with her near my butcher knives.
What you did was post all the "anti-social" parts of the libertarian platform. How about posting the ENTIRE platform. First off I'm a Republican/libertarian. I generally vote Republican, have been VERY active in the Republian party including electioneering, volunteered at the Bush HQ for Pres, etc.
My basic thinking is that we have BIGGER fish to fry trying to beat the LEFTISTS in this country. We don't have the luxury to argue among ourselves as to how more or less conservative we propose to be. Let's band together - those of us that are ANTI Leftists and when we defeat the Leftists/socialists, then we can discuss all these "minor" differences.
Most Libertarians that I know are more conservative than I am. Of course we haven't developed a definition for "conservative" so we're talking loosely here. They are much more PRO constitution, LESS for Federal Government interference and more PRO personal responsibility. The reason these "party platform" thingies are written up is not that they are PRO drugs, etc., but that they feel it is NOT the FEDERAL governments place to be the overseer of these issues. I tend to agree.
IMO, the Federal Gov. has as it's main responsibility the protection of its citizens from harm - from foreign and domestic intrusion. The Feds take more than $100 Billion from its citizens and it has FAILED in it's primary function.
it is none of my business if the intent is to carry the child to full term. if the intent is to kill the unborn child, then it is my business.
i am glad that you called it an unborn child. many people call it a fetus or some other term that denigrates its humanity and makes it sound like it can be a choice.
