Don't think "John has a long moustache" was from a poem. As I remember, the poem involed in the first Warning Message (in French) to the French was as follows:

The long sobs of the violins of Autumn"

The second Action Message telling the Frogs that the invasion was to take place immediately was: "Bless my heart with monotonous langour" Those lines, in French, are from Verlains "Song of Autumn." The "Bless my heart with monotonous langour" message had the same meaning as "John has a long mountache." but the messages were directed at different goups. Ah, I think......... Be well, Race.

No, I think that is an LHD, not an LHA, I was on the Belleau Wood in 81 for the maiden wespac, the flight deck looks a little different, also the island isnt as thick.

The Bow is shaped different, we didnt have those wings or whatever sticking out, our deck was right to the edge.

I sed to stand in the catwalk on the starboard side and throw bags of water on the messmen taking cigarette breaks in the gunwhale below...I was so cruel... :)

Liar. You are referring to the newly launched carrier Henry Wallace. It set sail yesterday from Lake Ray Hubbard in Texas. It's going down the Trinity River to Houston, which isn't easy as the Trinity isn't that wide. I didn't know you could put 15,000 Marines on a carrier, or that Stealth bombers could take off from the flight decks. And all those barrels marked, "Anthrax". But we musn't tip off the enemy, so hush.
