This is as absurd as it was when he said it a year or more ago. It is ALWAYS the proper time to bring up facts that raise doubts about any leaders, whether moral, commercial, religious, intellectual, or political. Are we to suppress their shortcomings when they ought to be reported? (Or when the leaders are not Democrats? Were you quiet during the war on Serbia?) Or is this forum simply a waste of time?

If "doubts" are to be given up, why don't the principals here simply shut down FreeRepublic now, and save us all some time? If discussion that leads to doubt is to be abandoned, haven't the terrorists already won?

Doubt and questioning is why we are here. If it's to be shut off, stop asking us for money, and turn what remains -- the 'bots and rounds of fervent mutual affirmation for The Leaders -- into something that can run as a hobby again, in the Robinsons' rec room.

I saw no such statement, as to his target being merely government employees. Nor, in regard to a reasonable (though, still, I believe, largely unnecessary) proclaimed caution about "sharing information with the enemy," was this limited to any such smaller group. And any such caution could have been expressed in one paragraph.

No, Robinson went on a tirade about not questioning those in power, and about such actions being disloyal, and about this applying to everyone. I can read plain language. You might benefit from going back to the head of this thread and REreading it.

In the year since, he -- along with his mod(erator) squad -- has shown just how much such genuine questioning in debate he is willing to tolerate in practice. The answer is not yet zero, but it's approaching that point. He hasn't bothered to hide it.
