Ben Laden encircled in a small zone of the south-east of Afghanistan (press)
Sunday November 18, 2001 - 12h36 GMT LONDON, Nov. 18 (AFP) - the British and American special forces encircled Oussama Ben Laden in a zone of some 80 km2 in the south-east of Afghanistan and are only "à a few hours "of him, according to Sunday Times and Sunday Telegraph which quote sources of the ministry for Defense.
"very interesting" information which was collected could lead to the arrest of Ben Laden "in the days to come", according to a source placed high of the ministry for the Defense quoted by Sunday Telegraph.
Commandos were conveyed by helicopter in this zone close to Kandahar, the stronghold of the talibans, to prevent Ben Laden from taking refuge in Pakistan, according to Sunday Times which also quotes sources of the ministry.
According to these sources, the supposed terrorist of origin saoudienne would be "static" some share in the south-east of Kandahar. "For a series of reasons, we are persuaded that it could not go far", affirmed a person in charge for the ministry quoted by Sunday Times.
Oussama Ben Laden is always in Afghanistan, in the province of Kandahar (southern), affirmed Sunday with the AFP Younis Qanooni, one of the persons in charge for the Alliance of north.
"According to my information, Ben Laden is still with Maruf", locality located at approximately 130 kilometers in the east of the town of Kandahar, said the Minister of Interior Department of Alliance.
"the plan always was to reduce the space of Ben Laden", declared the minister British in Defense, Geoff Hoon. "the space in which it operates now is very limited", it added quoted by Sunday Times.
"It always moved but its capacity to do it is reduced more and more", estimated Mr. Hoon quoted by Sunday Telegraph.
"My feeling is that that is to say we will obtain information which enables us to find it, or more probably, with the collapse of the talibans in the south, somebody will give it, perhaps a local head who knows where it is", continued the minister.
Saturday evening, the representative of the talibans in Pakistan contradicted information indicating that Ben Laden had left Afghanistan with his wives and his children. Oussama Ben Laden "is in Afghanistan but I do not know if it is on our territory or in the zone controlled by the Alliance of North", declared Saleem Zaeef.

I agree. If he is tried in America after a 180 odd day trial Alan Derowshitz will convince the idiots on a jury he's innocent. Hell the media would end up throwing a parade for Hasn't Been Laden because of the rating's they recieved.

Agree with you ..... I want proof positive that he no longer resides on planet Earth ..... but I don't want one cent spent on a trial!

Bin Laden's, capture, arraignment, trial and execution should be video taped and played in its entirety between two regularly scheduled commercial breaks on TV. I would also like to see the Gadsden flag on display during the trial and execution.

Things aren't quite the way Binny planned, eh? He assumed that we would strike back large and hard after 9-11 which would coalesce the Muslim world against us in jihad. Dubya and Co. handled things beautifully and now Binny is twisting in the wind. All we need is an Eva Braun for the final Goetterdammerung.

Do not under any circumstances allow OBL to live. I don't want to hear Johnny the Cracker saying: if the turban don't fit, you gotta acquit.
I can just see in my mind's eye all the war correspondents taking daily tallies of every alleged atrocity of the N Alliance against the Taliban and Al-Qeda. I can see them checking Osama's body for every wound. And then they will be rushing, filing charges against the US in Belgium and the Hague for war crimes committed with the tacit approval of the President and the American people. Since we are more powerful than Israel, we will be able to afford to ignore the crazies, but I am certain that the charges will be laid against us. I hope that we will use them as the final provocation to wrest our sovereignty from the clutches of the UN one worlders and to prosecute our war needs where we see fit. Anyone doubt that the charges are coming?

A fitting end without the refitting.

Turn the bloodthirsty criminal over to the families of the victims of WTC, Pentagon, the two US Embassies in Africa, the survivors of the murdered heros on the USS Cole, and the gallant courageous heros on the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania. Let them all have a piece of him, literally. We could film it, and show it on pay-per-view. I'd pay 50 bucks to watch the carnage. As an added bonus, you could even throw in zawahiri, with Sadat's family given the honors of dimembering this fat fanatic.

Give Hasbeen Laden a sex change and drop he/she off in the nearist repressive Islamic dictatorship. Tell the world he is dead.

My preference would be for us to find where he is and then collapse the entrance to his caves with one of those bunker busters. This would bury him alive. He would then be free to contemplate his approaching encounter with Allah at his leisure.
After a suitable time has elapsed , we go in and dig out the corpse, bring it back to the Arizona desert, where we stake it out on the ground in a star shape and let the buzzards have at it.

I prefer the gangland solution: "2 in the turban".

Oh, we already have Danny Glover saying we should "spare Bin Laden's life"....ugh. Who asked him? Maybe he should go to Ground Zero and tell that to the firefighters and policemen who are still looking for Bin Laden's VICTIMS. Or to Washington, DC and tell the people at the Pentagon that...or go to Lisa Beamer and tell her and the other family's who lost their loved ones because they were HEROES and probably saved 100's of lives that we should SPARE BIN LADEN'S LIFE.

LOL - sweet justice! However, I assume he is planning on being the last to off himself - just as his did his kindred soul, Hitler.

"I wonder why he thought he could murder 5000+ Americans and get away with it. " Osama believed the American Press about George Bush. And the previous responses of William Jefferson Clinton.

If Osama was smart enough to pull off the 9-11 attack, he surely must be smart to have have left the country as the first bombs were blowing up the surrounding countryside...
If it's true that there are 10 Osama look-alikes running around Afghanistan, how could anyone know if we get the real one??? Maybe it doesn't matter as long as we get one of them...
Unfortunately, now that Afghanistan has been decimated by our bombs, our country is still full of terroists since no one is willing to send all of the illegal Arabs back to the desert...
